Our “Just Turn Up” award winners for April/May/June have shown us how not only to turn up, but that most of us need to check ourselves when we measure our own version of a “hard life”….
One has overcome breast cancer and the aggressive treatment that goes along with it, as well as multiple losses in her immediate family that would’ve crippled the toughest of humans….. and she continued to turn up everyday…
One is a single Mum who raises two amazing kids that get to do all their heart desires all while she maintains a gruesome shift work roster as a leading intensive care nurse in our area….. she continues to turn up everyday.
One is the head paramedic on the Westpac Rescue Helicopter…. A usual day is often filled with tragedy that many of us would rather not speak of…. But he faces it daily so we can sleep soundly at night knowing that if any of our Loved ones are in danger, he will be there to protect… a responsibility that only the special among us could take on….
He continues to turn up everyday.
This is not a post to make you feel inconsequential or small.
This post is a reminder of the amazing people that we train along side and call family….. and how if we let them they will carry us on the days we need it most…
Let’s occasionally be there for them, because I’m sure they and you would agree… they need it too.
