It’s a not ALWAYS about getting bigger, its about getting BETTER.. especially as a competitive physique athlete.
The goal should always be centred around making the necessary refinements to your overall physique, without comprimising on any aspect
This might mean - creating more balance and symmetry, getting a little leaner / sharper, or maintaining a certain level of fullness come stage time. All of which requires constant long term data and monitoring to remove the guesswork!
