Well it wasn't to be for our Fearless Fives in the Mens State Pennant playoffs at Lake Cathie. A big loss to the strong St Johns Park side but taking a rink off them, a 6 point loss to Harbord also taking a rink and a heartbreaking 2 point loss to the undefeated section winners Wenty Leagues where we took 2 rinks. Far from disgraced and the boys conducted themselves i true Ramsgate RSL spirit. Many thanks to our Men's club for the payment of transport and accommodation costs and a big thank you to our bus driver Gavin Piredda and his co captain Scott Holden for providing the up front entertainment on the microphone. Well done fellas, the club is proud of you all. Go the Rams. 💙💛

All the very best to our boys from Ramsgate RSL in the finals of the Men's Pennants Division 3. Up against some stiff opposition but we will give it a shot. Go the Rams.

Semi final results for our 2026 Major Singles semi finals today. Gavin Piredda 25 def. Greg Anlezark 21 and Scott Holden 25 def. Marty Rudd 12. Two great games with an enthusiastic crowd watching. Final to be played on a date to be advised. Congratulations to Gavin and Scott on making the final.

Quarter final results of Major Singles 2026. G Anlezark def. B Miles, G Piredda def. F Rose, M Rudd def T Estmore, S Holden def J Green.
Semi finals on tomorrow morning 9.30am start. G Anlezark v G Piredda and M Rudd v S Holden. Two great games so get to the club to cheer the boys on then stay to watch the Aussies vs Turkey World Cup soccer clash at 2.00pm.

Some more sad news to report, former member and long time Zone 13 member Barry Rogan has passed away. Barry was a better than average bowler who played at St. George, Francis Drake, Ramsgate RSL and Blakehurst and was a popular figure amongst his peers. Barry's family has advised that there is no funeral service, however a wake in Barry's honour will be held at 2.00pm at the lower level of St. George Motor Boat Club on Saturday 30th May. Anyone who knew Barry is welcome to attend. RIP Bazza.

Well it wasn't to be for our Grade 5 team in the MSE region Open pennants playoff today with Bondi giving us a comprehensive 2 rinks to 1 thumping 77 shot to 39. The green speed wasn't to our liking but no excuses as the Bondi boys played well and were great company. We wish them all the best in their remaining games. Thanks to all our loyal supporters who came along to cheer us on today.

Just received news on our friend Barry Jones. Barry is now in Calvary hospital undergoing rehab on his broken hip. Unfortunately his ward has contracted a bug and all patients are under isolation for the next 5 days. So you are unable to visit Bazza until 6th April. In the interim, give him a call on his mobile, he'd love to hear from you.

Unfortunately the TP 4s quarter final between Matt Airey's team and Brad Miles' team had to be called off this morning due to a heavy downpour just before play started and continuous rain thereafter. We hope to get this game completed next Friday 13th Feb. to bring the tournament back into line.
