Absolutely incredible result for an incredible town that people used to scoff at! How could you not be enthralled by this place!?

BREAKING NEWS!!

We did it Tassie - Queenstown has been named Australia's Top Small Tourism Town for 2023!! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Our regional towns in Tasmania have a true sense of community and play such a crucial role in our state's visitor economy, and for Queenstown to take out Gold on the national stage just shows how well we do things in Tasmania.

Check out how incredible this town is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgiYehVf6Sg

Also, a HUGE congratulations to our Tiny Town finalist, Stanley, and Top Town finalist, Devonport. You made us very proud!

Improving the Queenstown skate park with a NEW pump track!

We've recently been working with the Queenstown Lions Club to revitalise the skate park and are looking to include a pump track in the build (behind the basketball gym, between the river and skate park).

We're almost ready to get started, but first we need your help!

The West Coast Council really likes the idea, they just want to confirm that local riders and the wider community are also on board before we're given the green light.

Our aim is to build a pump track for riders of all sizes and abilities, from locally sourced materials, with the help of locals. We want to build it out of gravel first, ride it and see what works - then tweak it so it meets the needs of everyone using it.

After that we could seek funding to get it asphalted and have it be a more permanent fixture. This first stage is very low impact and will let us see just how much use a pump track would get in Queenstown.

We're very fortunate to already have the local earth moving and quarrying businesses supporting us for this project. From all the requests, we're pretty confident that local kids, adults and visitors will love it too!

So please let us know what you think in the comments below, send us an email or come to a site meeting on Sunday 30/4/23 from 12-1pm. Even just a simple 'Yes' in the comments would be really helpful in getting this underway.

P.S. the concept shown here is not necessarily the final design, but it should give you a good idea of what we're after and the space we have to work with. This is a volunteer project.

BEHOLD!

Underdeveloped, less populated, and with mere pockets of phone reception, the West Coast of Tasmania promises an experience far removed from the typical bike park atmosphere.

Good year.

A big thanks to every rider who has spent some time shredding in the west this year - we hope it left you grinning from ear to ear just like this. It's been a huge one for us with the addition of the lower Mount Owen trails + Silver City MTB trails, creating a unique, adventure-packed network for a range of riding abilities. A huge shout-out also goes to our incredible trail builders, behind the scenes team + volunteers who keep things top notch and running like clockwork (a mean feat in the remote, rugged conditions).

Drop us your trail tales below or share your favourite trail. See you in 2023!

OONAH HILL | The OG Heemskirk trail and solid crowd favourite. Now linked with new trail, Despatch, this green loop takes you on a gentle climb from the trailhead through buttongrass plains, rainforest and a once bustling mine field. Then the fun (and flow) kicks off as you descend through perfectly linked berms and rollers, landing back where you started. A guaranteed good time.
