The Most Dangerous Easy Hole on the Island

The 17th hole doesn't look intimidating.

At just over 300 metres and with a Stroke Index of 17, many golfers see it as a chance to pick up a shot before the final hole.

But after 16 holes, confidence can be a dangerous thing.

The 17th has a habit of rewarding patience and punishing greed. Play it smart and you'll give yourself every chance. Try to force the issue and suddenly the walk to the 18th tee feels a little longer.

🏆 Women's Challenge Bowl Results

A field of 78 players enjoyed a wonderful autumn day across Golf's Island Home on Friday for the annual QGC Women's Challenge Bowl.

Congratulations to the team from Clifton Springs Golf Club – Bev Obst, Viv Benham and Marg Larnder – who claimed this year's Bowl after a strong performance in testing island conditions.

Thank you to all players who took part and helped make the day such a success. We hope everyone enjoyed their time at Queenscliff and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Kirk Whelan had one putt… and absolutely drained it. 🎯

After surviving the first round of our Putt for Dough challenge, four players returned for a sudden-death playoff with $500 on the line.

From long range, Kirk rolled in this beauty to take home the prize.

Safe to say there were a few cheers around the practice green for this one 👏⛳

National Volunteers Week gives us a chance to recognise the many ways members contribute to QGC — including those who proudly represented our club throughout the pennant season.

Across the season, there were players, caddies, supporters and volunteers giving up their days, travelling across the region and putting in countless hours for the club.

While scoreboards only tell part of the story, the commitment, teamwork and pride shown in representing QGC is something worth celebrating.

Events like this only happen through the support of many people working behind the scenes — volunteers giving their time, members lending a hand and sponsors generously getting behind the cause.
