Canberra Raiders Canterbury Australia 1993 Retail Away Jersey.

Thought I would post for the first time this year, on the first of the season.

And what a post it is...a 1993 mint condition Canberra Raiders Away Jersey signed by the team!

This was such an under used jersey because it is a thing is beauty especially with the blue shorts and socks! I also love how tight the design is, placement of logos, emblems and sponsors... everything just works!

Even better, this one fits me so I will be moving on the other one I have.

Thanks to for the help with this one snd the other goodies sent with it...Legend!!!

Now my Seahawks have won the Superbowl I'm ready for the NRL to start!!!

Canberra Raiders 2023 Women in League Jersey made by ISC Sports

This is one of a handful of jerseys through the years that were player issue only and no retails were ever released. This jersey had very special meaning in the history of the club as explained below:

Taken from the Raiders website:

"The Canberra Raiders NRL team will help celebrate the club's first ever NRLW home match this Saturday, by wearing the same playing kit as the club NRLW team in their round 22 match against the Newcastle Knights.

It’s also an opportune way to help celebrate Women in League round this weekend, with the club making the NRLW team the focus of this year's Women in League celebrations. The Raiders will wear the same green jersey, blue playing shorts and socks as the NRLW team, with the NRL teams usual sponsors in place.

In what will be a further special touch for the match, the centre chest of each jersey on the NRL teams kit will have the corresponding NRLW player's name on it from the club's round 1 NRLW match against the Sharks.

Raiders CEO Don Furner said it was just another way the club was getting ready to celebrate the historic home match at GIO Stadium Canberra.

“After what has been a long journey it’s wonderful that our NRLW team will have the opportunity to play their first home match at GIO Stadium Canberra this Saturday,” Furner said. “The NRL team wearing the same kit as the NRLW team is just another great way to support and welcome our newest team to our home city and ground and we are encouraging everyone to get to GIO Stadium Canberra on Saturday to be part of history.”.

The RLPA were in the middle of negotiating a new CBA which wasn't going well so all players across both men's and women's games covered the comp logo, unfortunately the Raiders lost the game 28-6

Canberra Raiders 1999 Heritage Jersey made by Classic Sportswear.

Didnt manage to post this in time yeatersay but this David Furner Heritage Jersey is a cracker in more ways than one!

Firstly it was the return of the original style Raiders jersey, shorts and socks not seen together since 1989 with the white collar and all. It was worn to celebrate the greatest grand final of all time 10 years earlier against the Balmain Tigers.

As we played the Tigers they also wore the heritage kit from that game, the sad side of this game was that it would be the final ever game for the Balmain club before merging with Western Suburbs, and we all know how that's worked out!

This game had alot of mystery around it. Despite the moments in history it was there was zero footage until last year despite being a televised game. I have still not seen any photos from this game either! So strange considering the significance of this game and these clubs.

The Raiders would run out convincing winners 42-14.

Canberra Raiders 2013 Centenary of Canberra Jersey made by ISC Sports

This is a special one for a local fan. 2013 was a HUGE year in Canberra to celebrate our 100th birthday! A year full of events and sporting fixtures the like of which the city had never seen and all of our sporting teams wore special overdue to mark the event.

Taken from a local news site:

"The Canberra Raiders will be joining in on Canberra’s Centenary Celebrations, when they wear a special Centenary Jersey against the Broncos on June 10 (Monday) at Canberra Stadium.

The jersey was officially launched today at the top of the iconic Canberra landmark Telstra Tower, with Raiders stars Terry Campese, Josh Papalii, Paul Vaughan and Mark Nicholls on hand to model the new strip.

The jersey design is based on a mix of the early representative strips of the first official ACT based representative rugby league teams which were established in the 1970’s. Before this time players from the ACT represented the region via the Monaro representative team.

The Canberra Raiders were established in 1982 after gaining submission into the NSW Rugby League (now NRL) and this jersey design is a celebration of the progression of the local competition developing into a national sporting organisation."

The fans got to vote on using the all blue kit with the away shorts and socks or the white home shorts and green socks. I think the all blue worked and treat as these are the ACT colours!

In true celebratory style we defeated the Broncos 30-18!

Canberra Raiders 2020 Black Dog Charity Jersey made by ISC Sports

This Dunamis Lui match worn Black Dog Charity Jersey is probably just behind the Deaf Jersey as a charity I'm really proud of the club for supporting, particularly during the pandemic when so many people struggled it was a timely campaign.

It was also interesting we played the Broncos who would go on to wear their own version of the Black Dog jersey this season. I think they nailed their version, that's not to say ours wasn't great especially for the time it was used.

"The Canberra Raiders and Major Sponsor Huawei Australia will partner together for the Round 14 clash against the Broncos to help raise awareness and funds for mental health-focused medical research institute the Black Dog Institute.

Founded in 2002 the Black Dog Institute is internationally recognised as a pioneer in the identification, prevention and treatment of mental illness, and the promotion of wellbeing.

The institute takes its name from the term coined by former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Sir Winston Churchill to describe his own depression with his renowned ‘V for Victory’ symbol and the dog’s shadow paying respect to the fact that although mental illness can be ever-present, however does not define the individual."

This was also an event jersey we actually won in, beating the Brisbane Broncos 36-8!

Canberra Raiders 2020 Foundation Jersey made by ISC Sports

This one belonged to Siliva Havili who only ended up playing 22 minutes of the bench as Tom Starling was the starting ho**er. Another one of those COVID games in 2020 but was one where a small crowd was allowed into the ground to watch. Also it was the return off some guy called SBW? Unfortunately the game didn't go our way going down 18-6.

The Foundation jersey was a special one off, the following is taken from the Raiders website:

The Canberra Raiders will wear a special one-off jersey during the 2020 season, in a bid to help raise money for the newly established Raiders Foundation. The Raiders Foundation has been established in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, to help ensure the ongoing success of the club driving growth both on and off the field.

The jersey is part of the Foundation’s “Green Forever” package, will give fans the opportunity to have their name featured on the foundation jersey. Places on the jersey are limited to 362, which corresponds with the number of players who have represented the Raiders at NRL level (as at end of season 2019). The names will feature in the jersey design and can be an individual’s name or family name (e.g. Mary Smith or Smith Family).

Canberra Raiders 2019 Grand Final Jersey made by ISC Sports

What more to say about this one. Firstly this doesn't belong to me it's a mate of mine who owns it.

But this is a jersey worn by one of the all time Raiders legends to wear the Green. This was also the one that he also wore during that game here in Canberra where he crashed over against South Sydney to book our ticket in the GF.

I've posted about the GF jersey before so I won't go into the game again but the a Grand Final Jersey worn by the most capped Raider of all time is something special.

Canberra Raiders 2020 Home Jersey made by ISC Sports

This match worn George Williams jersey from 2020 is a cool one to have in the collection given his limited time in green. His first season for the club resulted in 22 games and seven tries (the first of which was against the Dragons) joining with Jack Wighton to take us all the way to the Preliminary Final.

It would have been interesting to see how his time at the Raiders had panned out had COVID not happened. He would the following season request a release from his contract to return home to England due to home sickness.

Canberra Raiders 2012 Anzac Jersey made by ISC Sports

This match worn Josh McCrone Anzac jersey is hands down one of my favourite jerseys designs. The whole kit was awesome to blend in our home jersey design with the army camouflage. You can scroll back through my pages to read more about this jersey and its origins. Unfortunately we ended up going down 44-22 to the Sharks in front of 12,227 fans.

Josh ended up playing 26 games in 2012 with a 14 win and 12 loss record bagging 5 tries. He rotated between the halves positions mostly slotting into the five-eight roll.

Canberra Raiders 2012 Home Jersey made by ISC Sports

Been a bit behind with posting with Christmas, so starting up again with a player I think represented the Raiders jersey worth all the right qualities. Reece Robinson was one of my favourite players in in a period where so meant players were meant to be the next big thing. He was not a big name but often out performed some of the players who had top billing.

In 2012 he played 24 games, was the equal to try scorer for the club with 16, scoring a hat trick against the Dragons and making nearly 3000m for the season.
