Men’s Four’s down to the final.

Some great bowls played today. In one semifinal, Dave Hill, Shane Howard, Andrew Hassall and Greg McTernan defeated Scott Dagwell, Dave Howell, Chris Davis and Mark Dagwell 21 - 17.

The other semi saw Jason Johnson, Adrian Halloran, Gary Smith and Gordon Elliot defeat Kevin Pearson, David Caldwell, Sam Vucago and Craig Stumbles, 16 - 13.

Good to see some new faces take part in the Fours competition.

Ladies Four’s Champions

In todays ladies fours grand final Mandy Stitt skipped her side with great support from Cathy Batsh, Andrea Brighenti and Kathie Elliot to have a close victory by just a few shots against Leslie Harts side comprising Chrissie Cave, Neryle Pearson and Leslea Gruber who gave her skip lots of good advice right through to the end when losing narrowly on the final end well done to all eight players.

Club Fours

Draws for the men's and women's fours are below for your information and up at the club. Matches will be played on Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 September 2026.

Set up 8:15am.
Roll up 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start.

Afternoon match to commence 1:00pm approx.

Conditions of Play.
2 bowls, 21 ends.
2 end roll up before each match.
Dead ends to be replayed.

Upcoming Bowls Dates

Social Bowls
Just a friendly reminder for social days (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) please make sure that your name is on sheet or you call and leave a message prior to 9:15am that morning.

A big thank you to all those members who have come in on short notice to help balance the numbers of teams especially on Wednesday.

Doran is being played this Sunday at Bungendore. QBC has two team playing so if you have some spare time, it would be good if we could get some supporters out there to cheer them on. Good luck ladies.

Final Events for 2026

Mid week Pennants
Commences next week. Both the men and women’s teams are playing at home in in the first round.

Minor Men’s and Women’s Pairs will open 28 August and close 6 September. Matches to be played 12-13 September.

Minor Men’s and Women’s Singles will open 28 August and close 13 September. Matches to be played 19-20 September.
Mixed Pairs will open 28 August and close 20 September. Matches to be 26-27 September.

November Open Triples is now full – 30 teams registered. Will be another big weekend for the club.

6 December put this date in your calendar. There will be bowls and a free BBQ before we acknowledge and present our 2026 champions. More details to follow.

A blog below from Jean and Mal who visited our club on Saturday. They are well on the way to visiting every bowls club in Australia.

We've been off bowls for a while. Jean's Mum passed away in early August so we had to race down south to Nowra from Qld. We were there for a month then we came home to Canberra. Our first game back is at Queanbeyan.It's located at the council greens on the main drag. The clubhouse is tiny.There are....

Club Triples Decided

A great weekend of bowls. Congratulations to all, particularly those who made the finals.

In the Women’s final, Young, Warren and Donney defeated Batsh, Toohey and Elliot 31 - 16. Special mention for Lorraine Donney who has won her unheard of 38th club title this afternoon.

The Men’s final was a battle with Elliott, Brownlie and Rowe defeating McTernan, Pagura and Brighenti 23 - 14.
