NOTICE: To all Jerrabomberra Tennis Club(JTC) Stakeholders: 29/01/2023

Today I advised JTC President Peter Terwee, my tenure as Club Coach will come to an end, effective immediately.

After nearly 20 years of running my business from the club, I have decided the time is right to refresh and seek different opportunities.

I would like to wish Craig Barnard, JTC’s new Club Coach and business operator, a very warm welcome. Craig and I will be working to offer a seamless transition into Term 1 – 2023 operations for all clients and JTC stakeholders.

Term 1 2023 coaching enrolments will be unaffected by the change of business ownership. All Term 1-2023 coaching enquires should now be directed to Craig, using the contact details below.

Having joined the JTC as coach in 2003, I am delighted with the progress of the club over that time. We have developed a club and facility that is the envy of many in the region!

I would like to take this opportunity to recognise the Board’s support and guidance over my time at the JTC. I’m proud to have enjoyed a fantastic working relationship with the JTC Board. I sincerely thank all Board Members, past and present, for both the support of my business and all their hard work around the club.

The Autumn junior tennis league commences in March. Details are below. Indicative costs are about $40 for yellow ball and about $60 for green ball. Please let me know by Friday 10 February if your child is interested. If your child has not played before I will need their birthdate, phone number and email address.

Spring Junior Yellow Ball League

Dates: 19 Mar – 25 June

No Play Dates: 9, 16, 23 Apr, 28 May, 12 June

Times: 2 timeslots (Sunday 8:30am & Sunday 11am).
Time slots may vary each week, and will be published on draws.

Teams usually consist of 4 players (3 playing on any given Sunday).

Half the matches will be played at Jerrabomberra and half the matches at an away court. Matches are self run, with help of a parent if necessary.

Spring Junior Green Ball League

Dates: 19 Mar – 14 May

No Play Dates: 9, 16, 23 Apr

Times: 3 Timeslots (8:30, 10:30 & 12:30)
Time slots may vary each week, and will be published on draws.

Green ball is run by a representative from ACT Tennis and requires no parental involvement. Matches are played at various location around ACT and Queanbeyan.

Like yellow ball, teams usually consist of 4 players (3 playing on any given Sunday).

WET WEATHER CANCELLATION:

Due to the rain, lessons at Jerra are now cancelled for today (Thursday 15/9/2022).

Thursday classes, a make-up session is planned for 22nd September. This will be the last session for Thursday’s this term, normal lesson timeslots apply.

Additionally, other make up lesson opportunities are available on Tuesday (20th) and Wednesday (21st) in week 10. Bookings are required.
