Well it’s not ever fun to end the night early, and last night was no different.

We made the trip to Wangaratta for the 50th Compact Speedcars Victoria title. The track had received a little bit of rain the night before and the track needed a little TLC. The awesome crew at the track gave us the best they could with a huge effort, and we applaud them.

Hotlaps came and went, first time ever at the wang and the car felt good. Plenty of speed, on a rough and hooky track.

Heat 1 was unfortunately all she wrote when on about lap six running 2nd or 3rd a con rod let got.

Can’t thank Paul enough for giving me a rocket, Kyle, David and Brendan Sharpe for all their help and to the fabulous Victorian Committee and volunteers, thank you.

We’ll be back.

We headed to the country last night with L.A. Racing Lubricants 44 machine for the 2nd running of the Alan Streader 34.

Heat round 1 saw some carnage on a very tricky track, sitting in 3rd it was a patient wait for the drivers ahead to make an error, which occurred on lap 3. We were lucky to only collect a wheel on the way through. This gave us the lead at restart and it was a matter of holding the pole line on a track with no grip. We came home for the win.

A little magic was worked by my awesome crew between heats with rear bar changes, wheel spacing and front shocks and away we went.

Heat round 2 and the car was on rails, only problem was a massive power steering leak from a failed fitting meant steering was basically throttle only. lap times shows that we were quickest but had to play safe and settle for 5th. Sadly, this meant the night over with no spare fitting.

The car was a weapon and with that speed I’m gutted we couldn’t make the feature.

A massive shout out to Brendan and Kyle Sharpe for dragging the trailer to the track and getting the car setup ready to race. The boys are legends. my crew chief and good friend Paul Raynes, dead set wizard on the setups and we wouldn’t be anywhere without him. Thanks to you all.

Let’s regroup and get after it at Wangaratta for the Compact Speedcars Victoria championship Feb 4th, after a little work!

the nominations are coming in hot, with the fee set to double this coming Saturday 24th December to $150....

Our next Compact Speedcars NSW Championship contender is national and NSW state Secretary Ben Fairfax.

The Jerry Schaffer Racing Down Under NSW #44 Stealth / GSXR combo has got all the bells and whistles, all that’s in need is some talent behind the wheel! Here's to hoping the #44 doesn't have to come from the back of the B Main, although anything is possible!

Well I can officially say I’ve run the clay banks at Archerfield, and perhaps it maybe the one and only time with it set to close.

The 2022-2023 ACSA QLD Compact Speedcar Championship was held yesterday 19th November on a perfect day.

Drawing a 10 marble meant starting pole on a track I’d never run. Heat 1 got off to a terrible start, missing it completely. The car was on rails as always thanks to Paul Raynes. The down side to this is some other aren’t as quick and I came into turn 3 way too hot. My bad, over I go.

With a plethora of legends working on my car, massive shout out to Paul, Matt Wark, Brett Smith, Dave and Joel Collins, Brendan Sharpe and anyone else I missed.…the #44 was back in action. Unfortunately time had won for our second heat. With a 23 car field I was out for sure.

Lucky for me I made the rear of a packed and stacked feature (massive) thanks to Archerfield Managment and the QLD Compact Club. What a sight from the back of the pack.

With a magic setup again, I came home in 8th with A1 of Justin Paull in sight. What a way to end what could have been a way different night.

A huge shout out must go to my wife Nat and daughter Mia who support me always as well as my racing partners
