Looking for smart, talkative, big voiced, 15-16 year olds with a solid level of swimming skills. We will train them up to deliver high quality lessons as a junior swim teacher. This recognition means so much to us because it reflects the hard work, care, professionalism, and passion that our entire team brings to the swim school every single day.

From the teachers building children’s confidence in the water, to the juniors welcoming families and helping keep our facility running smoothly, this award belongs to all of you.

To celebrate 10 years in business today May 13, from now for a week, every child currently enrolled (or their parent) can spin our prize wheel. There are over $1000 in prizes, plus lucky dip toys and lollies. Free coffee. A big thanks to all our customers past and present! 🙏

10 years today! This week we are celebrating 10 years since I quit my job in the public service and started as a full-time swim teacher. And I didnt go broke! I'm taking the plunge! Swimming teaching has been an awesome part-time job for the last 7 years. I truly enjoy it. 🏊‍♂️ Proudly Queanbeyan.

I’ve lived in Queanbeyan for 38 years — went through Queanbeyan Public School and Queanbeyan High School, played junior footy for the Blues, had plenty of beers at the Roos, and played cricket for the Queanbeyan Cricket Club into my 30s. So putting our name forward for the Queanbeyan Business Awards genuinely means something to me.

The backstory: 10 years ago I left the public service to move into private business as a full-time swimming teacher. Since then, with Lisa, we’ve focused on doing one thing well, helping more local kids learn to swim.

Since opening our new facility in Daly Street in 2023, we’ve:
✅ Added over 700 new swimming lesson places in Queanbeyan
✅ Helped ease the pressure on local swim lesson waitlists
✅ Worked with hundreds of local families
✅ Built a team of 28 local staff, including many young people in their first job

We try to run a high-performing program and help kids learn life-saving swimming skills faster.

Week 1 school holiday program results are in - 63% of children were promoted up a level. This intensive format with Pete is a great way to get a big boost in skills. Week 2 program starts tomorrow.
