We have had the devastating news that one of our little under 6 players Koa from our Friday night Tball comp has lost his battle with brain cancer and unfortunately passed away just over a week ago now. The news has rattled us as you can imagine and I can only imagine how hard these times are for Koas family. I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and let them know that we have them in our thoughts and prayers.
Below are some words from Koas Mum and Coach Carlos giving those not fortunate enough to meet this little champion a little bit of an insight Into who he was.
From Koas Mum
Koa was a cheeky, optimistic warrior. He loved more than anything to be surrounded by the people he loved, his little sister Zimi, his cousins, friends and his dog. Koa lived for music, a good party, a big cuddle, sport, a superhero dress up, his hot wheels and monster trucks. He loved the beach and his special place was Byron Bay dancing at the pub. He loved his Friday night tee ball games and we are very grateful to the Pirates community for making those memories with us. We have shared the link to some organisations that were crucial in supporting Koa and our families wellbeing during his time living with brain cancer.

Koa was the heart of the team . He always had a smile on his face and the first one to be on the field . Rascals Red will miss our MVP.
