Spectacular conditions for Saturday Orienteering Series this morning. Sydney never ceases to surprise with today’s event exploring the upper reaches of the middle harbour tributaries at St Ives together with Sydney Water’s mega pipeline through the bush! Thank you for turning out today with 109 downloads. We are back again next week at the Emerge Festival in Chatswood for another Sydney treat.

This week's Saturday Orienteering Series is at 2nd St Ives Scout Hall, Hunter Ave, St Ives. Access to the hall is from The Pipeline Trail which starts opposite the Yarrabung Rd junction. Hunter Ave or Yarrabung Rd are best for parking. Start anytime between 9:30 and 11am.

Whether you’re a confident navigator or just curious about giving orienteering a go, the Saturday Orienteering Series is your weekly chance to get outdoors, discover hidden pockets of nature, and build your skills one map at a time.

How you take part is entirely up to you. Head out solo and enjoy the challenge of finding the cleanest, smartest route. Team up with friends for a shared adventure. Or wander the course with family and make it a relaxed weekend outing.

New to orienteering? Perfect. Each event includes clear maps, beginner‑friendly courses, and friendly guidance to help you get started. Just arrive in comfortable activewear and bring a sense of curiosity.

Saturdays become fresh air, gentle (or fast) exploration, and the fun of navigating through parks, reserves, and pockets of urban bushland you may never have noticed before.

Come along, get moving, and discover something new.

The Sydney City Race is back this year! The venue will be in North Sydney. Race in a world class urban environment.

Race day is Sunday 25 October.

Exciting news - the 2029 Junior World Orienteering Champs are to be held in New Zealand. Last time in this corner of the world was 2007 in Dubbo!

NEW ZEALAND HAS BEEN AWARDED 2029 JWOC The announcement of the 2029 Junior World Orienteering Championships follows a decision by the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) Council at a 6–8 July 2026 meeting.
This will be first JWOC to be held in New Zealand and only the second in Oceania, the event will showcase Canterbury's diverse and challenging terrain.
We look forward to welcoming the world's best junior athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters to Ōtautahi / Christchurch in 2029.
