More guidance for Victoria’s Level 4 from MBAV. Continuing the ongoing clarification process.

Specialist trades (used by Business Victoria) referred to as Specialist contractors by MBAV but defined.

Pragmatic approach for trades related to safety. Site supervisors limit to 3 visits each site per week.

Subdivision progress matters for defining a site.

No mention of the persistent (false) rumours regarding extensions for existing works until the 17th, one site per day, etc. so our view is it isn’t rule.

Key point for many is “specialist trades can move between up to three sites per week, subject to enhanced COVID safe practices”

To all the tradies dealing with real estate agents, the inability to evict tenants not paying rent for 6 months, increases the likelihood that rental income may not cover your invoices.

At a minimum please make sure you discuss with the agents the need to go directly to the landlord, if insufficient rent is being paid (or similar action) and that this need to be arranged prior to you attending the job.

As always, being proactive is better than trying to deal with it afterwards.
