Scenic Rim Trail Day 4: A beautiful day! Rainforest, lovely glimpses of the valley, a lovely little scramble up the back of Bare Rock, 360 degree views of the Goomburra Valley, the ridge we’d just walked along, the Fassifern Valley, and Mt Cordeaux. Saw plenty more Giant Spear Lilies which had finished flowering, a Lyre bird and stacks of other walkers on the way back down to Cunningham’s Gap. Then a little wait in the carpark for our lovely fellow walker to bring the car around and the drive back to Toowoomba. The hardest part about this walk was coming back to real life and routine!!

Day 3 of the Scenic Rim Trail (self-guided)…gorgeous morning views, lots of logs to cross, a couple snakes, filled up water in the creek (tasted SO good!), and then carried it up, up, up to our platforms in the pine forest! Accidentally walked an extra km due to missing the track at one point but still made it under (max) recommended time - something we were excited to do each day this trip after our very steady times last year!

Day 1: Scenic Rim Trail (self-guided), 9km, 741m elevation gain. Highlights: rock scrambles, almost constant views, giant spear lilies (doryanthes palmeri), and other beautiful flowers and leaves, sunshine but not too hot and hero dirt (not too wet or too dry - perfect for walking on)! Took us 5 hours 45 mins which left us plenty of time to set up, filter water, have dinner and be in bed before dark (sun went down at 5:08pm).
