Round 3 of VCS completed and we have made the podium again. Very close racing with nothing separating the top 3 in all the races. Matthew qualified in 3rd only 7 hundredth from pole. Race 1 finished in 3rd. Race 2 finished in second with fastest lap. Final finished in 3rd with fastest lap. Thanks to MFK racing, Tim and Thomas for the help over the weekend.

Well Victorian Country Championships RD1 was a good result for Matthew. Setting the pole time in qualifying on Saturday was a good start. Race 1 was in damp conditions with a single dry line. Unfortunately pole was on the wet side of the track with Matthew been pushed off the track in turn 1. Recovered from mid pack to finish third. Race two finish third. The final was a close battle for 10 of the 12 laps with fastest laps been traded between Remo and Matthew. Finishing in second position was a good result for our first run in a new class.

We would like to say thankyou to a group of people that played a big part in getting Matthew on track in the new West WR1000 prototype. Thanks to Mark Short from MSR fabrication, Tim Allison from Winguard for amazing colour wrap. Mark Povey from SA Motorsport tyres. Hankook tyres for the new rubber. Leon from CECE crash repairs for the painted parts and Dave from Robinsons fibreglass.
The new car ran extremely well on Friday for Matthews first drive in very wet conditions that tested the best drivers. Saturday we continued to improved and qualified in 12th. Race 1 we finished in 9th but we got the bad hand of a safety car just after our compulsory pit stop. Race 2 on Sunday morning went extremely well Starting from 9th and finishing 5th and lap tines were improving on every lap as Matthews confidence in the car continued to grow. Unfortunately race 3 we suffered a technical issue on the form up lap with a gear selection issue eventually leaving the car stuck in second gear on lap 7. Thanks to Jack Bell and Gavin Fowler for the help trackside. Looking forward to the next race meeting.

Well not a bad weekend after some terrible weather. Matt improved in the excel by over two seconds per lap. I also improved the lap times in the Ultra. The Goal was to be sub two minutes. That goal was achieved with a 1.58.79. Thanks to Gavin Fowler and Anthony Thiry for the crew work today. Thanks to SA Motorsport Tyres, Tough As work mats.

Hopefully we get a nicer day today to test the new Hankook rubber.

After a busy few weeks racing The Australian Kart Championships at Monarto circuit and then Victorian country series in Cobden we have finally had a weekend free to get some work done on the number 9 Excel. Almost a full car strip down and rebuild in two days. All new suspension all new control arm with new bushes, New gearbox and a brand new engine that I have been building over the last month. Big thanks to Bill Hanson and Sam Milton for the help with some engine machining and thanks the MV Automatics for the gearbox.

Well it has been a rough start to the 2019 Kart season with many technical failures. We have had them all from electrical failure, Carburetor issues and also a couple of engine failure to top it off. Hopefully that is all behind us now and we can get back on track during the Australian Kart Championships on the 17th,18th and 19th of May when Matthew lines up against the best in Australia. This event will be held at our home track Monarto Karting Complex and entry to the event is free. Come and see this sport at its best and get behind Matt and the other SA competitors.
