Lastly, a big congratulations to the Inagural Winner of the ‘Matt Shipp Fighting Spirit Award’ ✨✨

⭐️⭐️Nic White⭐️⭐️

The ‘Matt Shipp Fighting Spirit Award’ is a newly established perpetual award, created to honour a man who embodied what it truly means to play the game the right way. As part of this award, the recipient will have their registration covered for the following year. A small gesture that reflects the big spirit behind it.

This award isn’t about being the fastest, the flashiest or the highest try-scorer. It’s about heart. It’s about rocking up, giving it a red hot crack and competing in the right spirit every single time.

The Fighting Spirit Award is given to a player who shows courage when things are tough, resilience when the odds are against them and respect at all times. For their teammates, their opposition and the referees. They may not always be the standout on the scoreboard, but they are the one who lifts those around them. The one who keeps showing up. The one who refuses to give in.

It honours the qualities that defined Matt: perseverance, loyalty, grit and an unwavering commitment to his team, his family and his community. A top bloke, loved on and off the field, who uplifted everyone simply by being part of it.

As a perpetual award, it ensures that his fighting spirit continues to live on each season. Every recipient becomes part of that legacy, carrying forward the values of effort, integrity and heart that make our game and our community stronger.

Congratulations again Nic, for embodying these qualities as a player this year 💙✨✨

Huge congratulations to our ‘President Award’ Winner

⭐️⭐️ Stew Dracup ⭐️⭐️

Stew was also one of several people considered for this award. His attention to detail for our U10 competition helped it to be the success it was. His passion for junior touch was evident with the amount of junior teams he coached. He coach's Hazards Womens 1, and Assistant with W2 and other Hazards teams is extremely valued.
His drive and focus for Elite Touch football helped us gain extra help and coaching prior to our recent State Cup success. He is a valued member of the LTA Committee.

Huge congratulations to our ‘Coach of the Year’ award winner

⭐️⭐️ Cam Bailey ⭐️⭐️

Cam was one of multiple coaches discussed for this award. Cam coached the Mens 1 Premiers in 24/25, led a Sharks team in 2025 Premier League season, whilst also taking control of Luigi's Legends in our first ever Blitzball season.
At NYC Cam was charged with the Under 18 boys - never an easy feat - but he did it with style and dignity. Not once was he heard to raise his voice or loose his cool. Also coaching the boys to the Alliance Final - which they eventually took out against NT. Cam can also be seen coaching NSATIS teams and St Pats College at the State School Series.

Massive congratulations fo our ‘Male & Female Referee of the Year award winners!

⭐️ Ryan Shipp & Bianca Anderson ⭐️

💙 Ryan Shipp ~ Male Referee 💙
Ryan never shys away from a challenge. He will referee under 12 through to Mens 1. His relaxed nature helps to keep games calm and played into the spirit to which they are intended. With talk around him "showing up" to an NTL tournament, Ryan could be the state's next blue level badge.

💛 Bianca Anderson - Female Referee 💛
Bianca was our leading games number officiated referee. Bianca refereed on every night, sometimes 3 games a night - never any hassle or fuss. She does take a lot of inspiration from her Dad, who she credits for getting her to the level she is. Bianca refereed at NYC, while she was away she was selected to referee the U16 Girls Alliance final, along with Meg Sauerwald - quite an honour for a Tasmanian referee.

⭐️ Ethan Shipp & Georgia Harmey ⭐️

💙 Ethan Shipp ~ Male Junior Referee 💙
Ethan refereed a phenomenal amount of games this year - on all competition nights. He stepped up and was selected to referee numerous Womens 1 games as well as the Womens 2 Grand Final. Constantly seeking to improve and "better" JA! Ethan also refereed at our recent State Cup, as he has done for many years.

💛 Georgia Harmey ~Female Junior Referee 💛
Georgia too has also refereed an extraordinary amount of games this year, on mixed, womens and junior nights. Always prepared to step up and take a "senior" role with her knowledge and experience. Georgia refereed our Women's 4 Grand Final this year, along with Mixed White Grand Finals. Georgia was also part of our integral team at State Cup earlier this year.

⭐️ Dane Plakalovic & Erin Wilson ⭐️

💙 Dane Plakalovic ~ Junior Male 💙
Dane has played Mens 1 for multiple years, this season playing in Men’s Premier League Premiers team - Grasscutters.
Recently Captained NYC U18 Boys, who went on to win the Alliance Team of the Tournament.
Also Allaince team member.
Dane was also just awarded - Overall Blitzball MVP 2026 - Luigis Legends

💛 Erin Wilson ~ Junior Female 💛
Erin plays Womens 2 and Pools to W1. She was recently part of the NYC U18 team, and played NTL with WA. Erin has won numerous try scorers and B&F awayds over the years including this years Mixed Blue and W2.
