Sam’s Sweet Side 👨‍🍳🍰

Meet Sam. When he’s not swimming laps with us, he’s a chef. And we’ve been lucky enough to be his taste testers.

He’s been bringing in cakes and sweet treats after swim sessions, and they never last long.

There are so many people and stories behind the goggles at MH2O, and we thought it was time to share a few.

🦋 Technique Monday: Butterfly Butterfly is all about rhythm. A few tips from Coach.

Keep your eyes looking down. Your head position helps keep your body moving forward. When you breathe, stay low to the water. Lift just enough to breathe, then return your head down before your arms recover.

Lead with your chest. Press your chest down into the water and let the wave travel through your body.

Once you find the rhythm, your arms will follow.

Butterfly isn’t about muscling your way through the stroke. It’s about timing and flow.

Technique Mondays This week: Flip turns.

A few things to think about next time you’re at the wall:

1. The turn starts before the wall. Your last stroke sets up the whole turn.

2. A tight tuck helps you rotate faster.

3. Push off in a strong streamline. Hands together, arms squeezing your ears and body nice and long.

Looking to improve your technique? Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings are our technique-focused sessions, where we slow things down, ask questions and work on the little things that make a big difference. 💙
