I won’t be posting guitars on here anymore. I’ve decided to keep that for my Primal Tones page and I have also started a YouTube channel to show the guitars being played. There may also be other CBG related stuff thrown in as well. Videos will be sporadic.

It was a great few years running touch football before the pandemic shut the world down lol. That and coupled with a few seasons of bad weather. This year the decision to not hold it was again partly due to weather and also work commitments with plans to restart next season.
Due to life changing surgery, This page and all sports I ran from it will effectively be shutting down. If anyone is interested in running it I can give you the email list and contacts for insurance shirts etc. I had an amazing time watching the kids grow and develop skills over the years. Hopefully someone will run with it. Good luck and stay safe y’all.

I hope everyone has had a good summer so far.

Regarding touch football this year and moving forward.

When I started this competition some 8 years or so ago, there was 4 teams, less than 40 kids. The last season their was over 320 kids and adults registered. Doing this on my own became increasingly difficult with the growth bur I did have some amazing assistance from Chon that was greatly appreciated. However it has become to large for 1 or 2 people.

I would like to get the event running again this year and get it setup to run every year whether I do it or a committee.

This means that I am asking for a couple of volunteers to be on the committee.

Right now I am looking for a person to help raise sponsorship for the teams. (If you are interested in sponsorship please Dm me here).

I’m also looking at a registar and someone to arrange shirts as our previous supplier has shut shop.

The hardest part of the whole event is ensuring that we have enough referees each week. For the adults and senior kids, refs are paid per game so that f you know someone who doesn’t want to play but would enjoy getting a few dollars to run around an oval please contact me.

This year referees will NOT be able to play in a team.

So if you want to see touch back this year and every year, bigger and better, and can help, then please get in touch and let’s get it happening for term 4.

Hello everyone.

This post has been one I have started several times over the last week but haven’t finished, in the hope things would change.

Unfortunately they haven’t.

There will NOT be a touch football season happening through Get Skillz.

Several factors have made it impossible to organise an event that will run smoothly. This event is put together by myself. Not a committee. Time is a major issue and a few other things.

Without referees there cannot be games. I haven’t been able to get 6, let alone 2 people, to commit to 10 Thursday afternoons to ref. I know in the past some fathers have jumped in and helped and a massive thanks to those dads, however, it shouldn’t be on the same handful every year to help and I do not expect them to.

With the growth of the event over the last few years, sponsorships are also needed to help with shirts and field costs etc.
To those businesses who have always given their support, Thanks.
To the couple of new businesses that have pledged your support, Thanks.
With over 300 players last year, that equated to 30 sponsors needed. Last year there was 18. That meant I footed the extra costs just for the event to go ahead. I can’t afford to do that again.

My shirt supplier has closed her business which I can work around but after 7 years it had finally got to a stage where the process was quick, easy and reliable.

Last year the weather created havoc with our games and looking at predictions from those who study the weather, it’s looking like another wet season. If it’s anything like last season, half the games will probably be cancelled unfortunately.

I love running this event, seeing and hearing everyone have a blast outdoors is awesome.
This is the hardest decision I have had to make this year.

Hi everyone.
Thank you for your patience. I am currently working on 2 options. As you are aware, all other sports have returned for this season which is making it difficult to lock in a date with the relevant organisations and myself and securing a field.
I will have an email out to everybody by the end of the weekend with the decision.

With no games tomorrow, dates will be released for 2 days in February in the new year, I am posting the positions for the kids competition. With one more round before finals, it’s a close race.

MINORS
There is only a single point that puts the leading team in front of third. With the next 4 teams within 5 points of each other the final positions on the ladder are far from confirmed. It is still possible for the team in 8th to finish 5th and the team in 4th to make the Grand Final.
Here is the minor ladder at this point in time

JUNIORS
There is one team undefeated across all divisions and they are leading the Junior division. For all of these boys it is the last year the are able to play juniors and will compete as seniors next year.
THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY HAVE WON YET.
Each year these boys have made the final and each year they have choked at the line.
With one round before finals, There is still 4 teams that have the opportunity to make the final and sn**ch their glory and claim victory.

I have just been informed that 1 seniors team is forfeiting tonight’s games. This will mean that the team with a bye each game will ref the other games. No need to bring an extra referee.
All parents of juniors. It would really help if you are able to ref just 1 of your child’s games.
I do have some referees but not enough to cover every game at this stage.

Juniors start at 5:00
Seniors start at 7:00
Minimum of 3 games each team provided that all teams show up.
Seniors, please supply a referee.
Do you know someone who loves running, doesn’t need to know intricate rules. Can count to 6 and have a rough idea. Mistakes happen and generally even out.
Sheep stations are not won or lost.
I’m also looking but I’m not willing to ask the same people each week.
