Reg Bartley XI We play at Sydney's most picturesque ground on the shores of Rushcutters Bay. We believe cricket is a gentleman's game, to be played in good spirit.

We believe cricket should be played in a good spirit with plenty of fun. We encourage players of all experience and skill levels. We want to give something back to the community, so we support the Amateur Ashes and charities including Redkite and The LBW Trust. All welcome on Saturday for ‘The Tr-Ashes’. Unlike the international series the Urn is still very much on the line at Reg Bartley CC as our Club Poms take on the club Aussies in a T20 test match to decide who adds more value to our cricket club… It’s set to be a spectacle, we will have a cash BBQ and Candy floss on the go all day. Friends and family all welcome. Come on down to soak it up, feel free to BYO drinks, picnic, games and enthusiasm for mediocre cricket! Hope to see you there 👍🏼

2025-26 FIXTURE

What a cracking summer of cricket we have ahead of us, with a full slate of weekend fixtures as well as the ninth installment of our Twilight T20 series.

And in an exciting development for the City & Suburban Cricket Association of which we are proud members, the Jack Pace Shield has been expanded - so every game until February now counts towards that competition.

If you are thinking about playing cricket this summer join us at training at East Sydney Cricket Centre at Sydney Boys High School, every Thursday from 7pm. And if you are a spectator, come down to the RBO for a perfect afternoon of cricket at one of the most beautiful grounds in the country.

SEASON 25/26 IS UNDERWAY!
The Barts are back at it for another year, kicking things off in exquisite style at Bowral’s hallowed Bradman Oval.
It’s a T20 Test format, with each side getting two innings of 20 overs. At lunch the Barts posted 121/2 of 20, in reply Bowral CC 166/6 off 20.

Barts defeat Marrickville by 16 runs!

March report from skipper Ali Stokes:

Barts won the toss and batted on a perfect afternoon.
Adam Birkett (34) anchored the innings, before some great stroke play from Jakob Onyekwelu (67) kicked things into top gear. Duncan Bristow added 27* to leave the Barts with a final score of 8/165.

With ball in hand the Barts bowled beautifully. While we didn’t get many early wickets we restricted the flow of runs and kept Marrickville to just 2/61 at the drinks break.

Bowling duties were shared in the final 18 which saw
Fraser⁩ Baird took 1/17 off 5 on debut, and Duncan Bristow⁩ took his first Bart’s wicket.

We are back at RBO next Sunday, February 9, against Beavers.

Did somebody say KFC?

We have loved seeing our beloved Reg Bartley Oval on our TV screens this summer, as the backdrop to these KFC ads starring Alyssa Healy, Usman Khawaja, Alana King and Mitchell Starc that have been airing throughout the .

And just a reminder that we actively seeking club sponsors, and will accept contributions in cash or chicken. Would love to get on the phone with the Colonel and see if we can work something out…

The Barts kicked their 2024/25 season off in fine style, with an 87 run victory against Cricketers Club of NSW at the Reg Bartley Oval.

Having lost the toss and being asked to bat, the Barts got off to a shaky start: 3/16 off the first 8 overs. But that brought Ed Dawson to the crease with Dan Grabinar, and the two debutants set about righting the ship. After 23 overs they had improved our position to 3/78, and when Dan departed for a redoubtable 28 Ed started playing some shots. Together with a typically big-hitting effort from Rainer Gaunt they took our final total to 7/143 — a more than respectable score at RBO, and a tremendous effort considering how things had begun.

Early-season energy in the nets has been very high, inspired by some promising off-season recruits to the bowling unit in particular. First-time captain Alistair Stokes wasted no time on breaking out the shiny new toys, throwing the ball to Clayton Herbst and Will Roberts to open the attack — and ‘attack’ proved exactly the right word.

Heeding Stokes’s directive to bowl full and straight, Clayton and Will delivered a blistering opening spell that had CCNSW reeling at 3/22 after 9 overs. But there was no respite at the change of bowlers, as Alistair and Zach came on and turned the screws even further. Ali bowled with laser-like precision on his way to 2/5, and Zach put in the performance of the day: 3 wickets (all bowled), two middle stumps out the ground and just 17 runs given away.

Rainer Gaunt came in to deliver the final blow, including a brilliant catch from Noah Stuart who had a faultless day behind the stumps.

CCNSW were bowled out for 59 in the 25th over, leaving the Barts to enjoy a cleansing victory ale as the shadows lengthened across the field of dreams.

Merry Christmas to all, from our Barts family to yours.
We hope Santa brought you everything you asked for - a nice bottle of something, and to raise the bat* at least once this season.

* I’m being told that Santa grants wishes, not perform miracles, so some of us might be out of luck…
