➡️The Next Generation Sport Club Leaders Program is a FREE (valued at approximately $500pp), streamlined, all-inclusive
workshop designed to upskill local sport club volunteer leaders on topics critical to long term club sustainability and best practice club management.
➡️This workshop is ideal for both new and established sport volunteer leaders that want a better understanding of what is required to successfully and efficiently manage their clubs.

Presented by experts from the Institute for Community Directors this workshop will cover topics including:

Support for Kids to Play Sport – Get Active Kids Voucher Program
Eligible families can apply for vouchers of up to $200 per child to help cover the cost of joining local sports - reducing out-of-pocket expenses and boosting participation.

Round 2 applications are now open and close 10am 2 April 2026.

The program is open to kids aged up to 18 who are:
• Named on a Commonwealth Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card
• Listed on a Medicare Card
• Eligible under special consideration (including children in care, visa holders, migrants, and international students)

👀Have you seen the new SportsBox lockers across the Glenelg Shire? Lockers are located at the Portland Foreshore and Island Park, Casterton.

SportsBox is a free, self-serve locker providing access to sports equipment including basketballs, soccer balls, netballs and AFL footballs. These are the first SportsBox lockers in Victoria! 🙌

📊The response so far has been amazing!
Across Portland and Casterton, in the month of December alone, there were:
- Over 200 equipment hire transactions
- More than 70 hours of equipment use

🏀If you have not had a chance to have a go, here is how it works:
1. Download the SportsBox App
2. Create an account (credit card details are required, but you'll only be charged if the equipment is not returned)
3. Unlock your chosen equipment and play
4. Return the ball to the locker and upload a photo to confirm your return

⚠️If you experience an issue with the app of the equipment:
- report it via the SportsBox App, or
- Call SportsBox Support on 1800 343 213

👏The Recreation Team are thrilled with how well the lockers have been used and the community has been fantastic - with equipment returned after every single use!

💡 Know someone who excelled during 2025 in the sport and recreation sector and deserves recognition? There are 18 categories available so head to the Vicsport website from January 15 to submit your nominations! 📝
