Last Friday evening we hosted our very first Trivia Night and by all accounts it was a success. The room was filled with a great mix of people and we're pretty sure they had a fun time.
Sarah Gregory was the quiz master, putting together topical questions and questionable topics.

There were some creative team names with the "Encouragement Award" going to the 8 Amigoes.
Third place went to The Nomadic Travelers.
2nd place to Bowls & Brains.
And it was the Juan J Amigos taking the win.

Vouchers were donated for prizes by the extraordinarily generous local business community which included the following:
Prom Meats including a massive meat tray for the raffle 1st prize. Welshpool Hotel. The Port Welshpool Pub. Foster IGA. AG Warehouse Foster. Cellarbrations Foster. Betta Electrical Yarram. Welshpool Supermarket & Cafe. Yarram Bakery Cafe. Foster Lotto Linen & More. Ninety Mile Country Store - Yarram. Aherns Fruit Market. Yarram Bargain Centre. Port Welshpool Fishing Club. Yarram Men's Shed.

Well done and Thank You to all of our members who had a hand in the organization of the night.

If anyone ever wondered what happens to our green when the bowling season ends. In short, our members roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.
We have concreted one of our banks; completed the annual green renovation which included a bloody lot of wheel barrowing to dethatch, core, top-dress and fertilize the green and installed a new security system.
Many will recognize those in the photos and there are quite a few who were unavailable or camera shy who helped in other ways and also some very generous people from outside of the club such as
Phil who we get to do the coring with the machine from the (Well done on your retirement too Phil.)
Andrew from who generously carted the sand.
Dylan McMeekin from Living Turf for his expertise for which Errol would be lost without.
Also, thanks to Matt who drove 6hrs to collect and return the hired top-dress machine from at Koo Wee Rup.
Craig and Carla at Prom Meats who donated snags for the troops.
The fellas at concreted the renovated bank.
Thank you Alberton Timber for supporting our bank project also.

A tiring week but we'll worth it.

Runners-up were a mixed team from Toora, Meeniyan and Mirboo Nth of John Ryan Joe Paynting & Andy Plowman.
Best Last Game when to Brendan, Denise and David from Yarram.
Denise Richardson and Errol smashed out the lunches and afternoon tea which is always greatly appreciated.

Andrew Stimson has done us proud coming Runners-up in the inaugural Latrobe Valley Novice Tournament at the Morwell Bowling Club over the Easter weekend.
Well done to those at Morwell, Yinnar and Moe bowling clubs for organising this event.
It's been great to see our club represented with David Canning also competing and doing really well also.

March Triples - apologies for the delay. There seems to be more bowling now than during Pennant season.
Sponsors for the day were our very generous members Craig and Carla from Prom Meats in Foster.
Another glorious day at Port Welshpool and the green was rolling magnificently.
Winners were Ian Brandon, Ray Corry & Dave Bond from Meeniyan.
Runners-up were the home team of Ted Allott, Angela Tisler & Andrew Stimson.
Best Last Game went to Joe Paynting, Andy Plowman and Phil Stimson.
The day ended with a surprise birthday cake to celebrate Errol's 50th birthday. He tried keeping it quiet but his wife let the cat out of the bag.
