πŸŽ‰ Exciting News for Port Pirie Little Athletics! πŸŽ‰

We’re thrilled to share that Port Pirie Little Athletics has been successful in receiving funding through the 2026 Active Kids Grant!

The funding will be used to purchase new club uniforms, helping to support our athletes and families and ensuring our members continue to look great while representing Port Pirie Little Athletics.

We are proud to be one of 171 grassroots sporting clubs across Australia to receive support through this program. As a volunteer-run community club, opportunities like this make a real difference and help us continue providing affordable and accessible sport for local children.

A huge thank you to The Dickinson Foundation and the Australian Sports Foundation for supporting grassroots sport and investing in communities like ours.

We’re looking forward to receiving the uniforms and will share more information with members once they arrive.

πŸ“£ The 2026 Active Kids Grant recipients have been announced!

171 grassroots clubs across Australia will share more than $618,000 worth of equipment and uniforms to help more kids get involved in sport.

From replacing flood-damaged junior gear in regional Queensland, to supporting Paralympic sport pathways in Wollongong and expanding access in remote communities like Broome, this funding is helping more kids take part in sport.

Generously funded by The Dickinson Foundation and delivered in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, the program continues to back the clubs, volunteers and communities that are creating opportunities for young people every day.

Congratulations to all recipients πŸ‘

πŸ† What a Night for Port Pirie Little Athletics! πŸ†

We are incredibly proud to share that at the Little Athletics South Australia 2026 Association Awards Night, Port Pirie Little Athletics Centre was recognised with some amazing honours:

πŸ₯‡ Winners – Regional Centre of the Year
🌟 Finalists – Regional Social Media Centre of the Year

To receive recognition at a state level is something our club is extremely proud of. These awards reflect the hard work, energy and community spirit shown throughout the season by our athletes, families, volunteers, committee members and supporters.

As a small regional centre, this recognition means so much and highlights what can be achieved when a community comes together to support kids in sport.

Pictured accepting the award is our Club President, James, whose leadership, passion and countless hours of work have helped build the club from the very beginning a few short years ago into the thriving centre it is today πŸ‘

A huge congratulations as well to all centres recognised throughout the evening β€” especially our neighbouring regional clubs. It’s fantastic to see regional athletics being celebrated across South Australia.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in our 2025–2026 season. This recognition belongs to all of you!

🌧️ Another week, another washout… 🌧️

Who would have thought we’d be cancelling Little Aths for rain in February!

Unfortunately, due to the current wet weather conditions and the forecast ahead, tomorrow morning’s meet has been cancelled ⚑
It’s already very wet underfoot, and with more weather expected, it’s not safe to proceed.

As always, safety comes first for our athletes, families and volunteers.

Thanks for your understanding β€” fingers crossed for better weather next week!
