Port Macquarie Surf School is the most respected and longest running surf school in the area. Peter Hudson started surfing in 1960 and coaching surfers in 1981. He was the NSW team coach at the Australian Titles. Peter has won an incredible amount of State and Australian titles (for Short and Longboards). He has been operating Port Macquarie Surf School, along with his sons for over a decade. Wayne and Grant have both been prolific competitive surfers, competing on the WQS for many years and have many State and National titles to their names. All partners are Level 2 qualified coaches, with Wayne and Grant being Professional lifeguards for many years. Port Macquarie Surf School has the knowledge, experience and safety to keep you in the water having fun.

ANOTHER TOOL IN OUR SAFETY KIT

Another weekend of learning and investing in the future of Port Macquarie Surf School.

I was fortunate to complete a professional drone training course, getting plenty of flight time and developing new skills that will support our surf school’s commitment to safety and best practice.

A huge thank you to Surfing NSW for providing this fantastic professional development opportunity, expertly delivered by Hover UAV.

I’m also incredibly grateful to the NSW Department of Primary Industries and SharkSmart for providing our surf school with a drone.

As a surf school operating year-round, the drone is simply another tool that can assist our existing risk management procedures and beach operations when appropriate. While we hope it’s never needed, being prepared and continuing to improve is all part of delivering a safe, professional experience for our participants.

Learning never stops, and I’m excited to add another skill that helps us continue providing the best possible surf school experience.
