With low expectations I headed down to find some high quality cars!

I've been sent this one more than once so I thought I'd post it up and get some opinions.

First of all - what is a classic car?

Are we talking cars over 30 that are eligible for historic and classic rego?

Or are we talking high dollar collectables?

Either way - my opinion is that we pay enough tax!

Anyone got any more knowledge on the subject or want to share their opinion?

(EDIT BECAUSE APPARENTLY "I HAVE TO DO IT" LOL)

The community have decided in their discussion on this topic that this is FAKE news which is a great relief to me!

I genuinely didn't know if I was about to have to pay a couple of grand to have my old junk valued?

Yeah I could have looked it up or asked my accountant but I asked you guys instead... Apparently some people see me as dishonest or a tin foil hat wearer or some s**t because of that?!

It's okay - I'll keep being the bad guy and posting things when I don't fully know or understand them, regardless of what people call me because of it 🤣

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and not getting hassled by police 🚓

The reports I heard during the week were 100% accurate and I've seen and heard of multiple defects over the weekend including fully engineered vehicles 😞

They say do the right thing and you won't get hassled - but unfortunately that's not always the case 🤷🏻‍♂️

I just wanna say something real quick...

If I put up a post and cross it over the local groups warning that I've received multiple messages and spoken to prominent figures within the community saying that they're hearing there's going to be a police blitz this weekend - it's not for the fun of it.

If there's no police in Newcastle this weekend and people stayed home because they didn't want the drama of having a low, loud or lumpy car - then boohoo! You got some stuff done around the house or did something to your car that you wouldn't have done if you were out and about AND you didn't get defected...

However, if I am messaged and told that there's going to be a heavy police presence and I just keep that to myself - how many of my mates and fellow car enthusiasts could go out and get fined?

As I always say - do the wrong thing then you're on your own... But if I can save someone copping a defect and a fine for something that's plain ridiculous and shouldn't be illegal (there's too many things to list here) then I will do my best to do that.

Times are tough. Rent is high. Rates are high. Guess what else is high? REVENUE! A defect on your car can be north of $1000 and points off your licence.

Now I know there's the do gooders who say that your car should be legal and you'll be fine but do you know who gets to tell you whether or not your car is legal? The cop on the side of the road.

You may THINK your car is legal - hell, it could well be... But the cop who can't get you for anything else is sure as hell gonna tell you it's not and BOOM! Defected. Been there, done that... Many times!

Anyway I just wanted to clear this up as it's apparent that some people think I made this up for some sort of personal gain 🙄

I literally make my living by filming local events and going to car meets so I don't see what I gain from spreading the message that there could be a blitz this weekend and I wouldn't say it if it didn't come from reliable sources...

Whatever you choose to do I hope everyone has a great weekend and nobody receives any unnecessary fines or harassment from the police. Local police aren't usually too bad 🤷🏻‍♂️ it's the guys they bring in from out of town that nail everyone.

I've heard from quite a few people now from all walks of life that there'll be another police blitz in Newcastle this weekend 🚓

After the antics of the Bad Apples meet and greet last weekend it is said that the police are "pi**ed" and out to get the "hoons" - which translates to anyone driving a nice car 🙄

Don't get me wrong... If you do the wrong thing and get caught - that's on you!

But I'm not a fan of hearing that someone has been booked/ defected for something that makes their car handle better 🤷🏻‍♂️

Either way, I've heard it from multiple sources so I'm doing my public duty to let everyone know that there "could" be a blitz this weekend 👮🏻‍♂️
