Last weekend DAPL members gathered at our boat shed to share a lunchtime feast.
A variety of international dishes (homemade contributions) were made and devoured, celebrating our 3 members Liz, Sue & Annie’s exciting participation in the upcoming IBCPC Paddling Festival in France 🇫🇷 in August!
Along with some fun trivia games and quiz’s, the lunch was a great way for us to connect and wish the ladies all the best for their journey.

The International Breast Cancer Commission (IBCPC) is an international organisation whose mandate is to encourage the establishment of breast cancer dragon boat teams, within the framework of participation and inclusiveness. DAPL members Celebrating Christine Hains milestone 90th! • Birthday this past weekend. 💝

Chris joined DAPL in 2013 as a survivor of breast cancer. She was a committee member and a drummer for our crew, & traveled interstate drumming with other clubs too.
She competed in the Port Pirie regional regatta, along with a few others too. In 2023 Christine attended the BCNA
Breast Cancer Network Australia
"Field of Pink" at the MCG.

Chris has participated and taken part in many fundraising events and functions over the years, including the early morning Australia Day Breakfast 2016 Variety Bash.
She was also involved in a few of the
"Pink Bun" Days, an informational and educational event for Breast Cancer hosted by Bakers Delight Port Lincoln.

She is still involved with DAPL, being constant contributor meeting up with the crew and members for Sunday coffee & connections at the Port Lincoln Marina Hotel.

We would love to take this opportunity to thank Christine a for her contributions to the club wishing her BIG Congratulation's on her Milestone Birthday xx

We can't think of anyone more deserving for the work you have carried out, particularly the high standard of education and assistance you and your team have furnished the people on Eyre Peninsula!
