DAPL members Celebrating Christine Hains milestone 90th! โ€ข Birthday this past weekend. ๐Ÿ’

Chris joined DAPL in 2013 as a survivor of breast cancer. She was a committee member and a drummer for our crew, & traveled interstate drumming with other clubs too.
She competed in the Port Pirie regional regatta, along with a few others too. In 2023 Christine attended the BCNA
Breast Cancer Network Australia
"Field of Pink" at the MCG.

Chris has participated and taken part in many fundraising events and functions over the years, including the early morning Australia Day Breakfast 2016 Variety Bash.
She was also involved in a few of the
"Pink Bun" Days, an informational and educational event for Breast Cancer hosted by Bakers Delight Port Lincoln.

She is still involved with DAPL, being constant contributor meeting up with the crew and members for Sunday coffee & connections at the Port Lincoln Marina Hotel.

We would love to take this opportunity to thank Christine a for her contributions to the club wishing her BIG Congratulation's on her Milestone Birthday xx

Dragons Afloat Port Lincoln would like to Congratulate Professor Neil Piller on receiving your OAM in the 2026 Honours List.
We can't think of anyone more deserving for the work you have carried out, particularly the high standard of education and assistance you and your team have furnished the people on Eyre Peninsula!

Regards and best wishes from
President Sandy with the committee and members of DAPL.

Hereโ€™s a few more photos of the parade!
We had such a fun day @ the Tunarama Festival participating in the street parade. The DAPL crewโ€™s Float was our Boat all dressed up & decorated in
๐Ÿ’“PINK๐Ÿ’“.
It gave us an opportunity to hand out pamphlets about Breast Cancer and create awareness.

Credit and thanks to Phil for these wonderful photos ๐Ÿ’“

Today our DAPL members participated in the Tunarama Festival @ Port Lincoln street parade, with our boat as the float. โ€œMaxineโ€™s Dreamโ€ was all dressed up with our signature โ€œPink๐ŸŽ€ โ€œ ribbons, banners and bras.

It was a wonderful turn out & gave us the opportunity to engage with community & hand out some pamplets about Breast Cancer.

With cracking weather, being amongst some fantastic floats, & the friendly crowd, we felt privileged to be a part of it & had a great time.

If paddling is something you think youโ€™d like to try, then come join us for a go, Sunday mornings 8:45am down at the Marina boat ramp.

Any DAPL a members who may be interested.
