And every single time, the parent who says it is working off a myth — not the reality of what actually happens on our mats.

Here are the 5 things Perth parents get wrong about kids BJJ 👇

❌ "They'll get hurt" — BJJ is built around tapping out. It's one of the safest contact sports available for kids.

❌ "They need to be fit first" — BJJ is the fitness. You don't get ready for it. You get fit by doing it.

❌ "It'll make them aggressive" — The opposite happens. Calm, strategic thinking beats aggression every time on the mat. Kids learn this fast.

❌ "It's only for kids who want to fight" — Most of our junior students have zero interest in competing. That's completely fine. We have pathways for every goal.

❌ "They're too young or too old" — We train kids from age 3.5 through to 15 and beyond. There is no wrong age to start.

ANZAC Day isn’t just history — it’s sacrifice, mateship, and people stepping up when it mattered most.

It’s the understanding that when things go bad, you don’t step back… you step forward for the person next to you.

Ben Roberts-Smith showed that in Afghanistan. With his team under heavy fire, he moved into the danger, took the fight to the enemy, and created a way out for his mates.
That’s what this day represents.

Take the time to reflect and remember what’s been given so we can live the lives we do.

And for F***s Sake Dont Host Open Mats or Open Your Business. Treat the day for what it is meant for rememberance and respect.
