Another tough blow for Kaden Groves.

The Australian sprinter has abandoned the Vuelta a España after nine stages, ending his bid for another points jersey.

Groves also withdrew from this year’s Giro d’Italia, making it a frustrating Grand Tour season for one of Australia’s best sprinters.

Hopefully we see Kaden back at his best soon. 🇦🇺💪

⚠️ DIY e-bike battery repairs are being linked to a number of serious fires in NSW — including a blaze that killed two women.

Fire and Rescue NSW told a coronial inquest last week that some battery repairs are being carried out in backyards using soldering irons and parts bought online.

“There are backyard operations, they have soldering irons and they purchase things off eBay to do repairs,” FRNSW said.

A brutal end to the Vuelta for Pog, with a broken collarbone, neck bone and concussion 😫

“He is stable, and following a thorough medical assessment at hospital, Tadej has been diagnosed with a concussion, displaced left clavicle [collarbone] fracture, a stable C7 cervical fracture [neck bone], and multiple abrasions. Fortunately, no other major injuries and no neurological fallout.

Fingers crossed for a full and speedy recovery. 🤞

🇦🇺 It’s been a solid start to the Vuelta for Jay Vine, who sits 10th overall after five stages — with the Townsville rider playing a key role in Tadej Pogačar’s dominant start.

After a pretty brutal year on the bike so far, we’re hoping Vine’s luck continues as the race heads into its second week. 🤞

A government-led crackdown on illegal e-bikes is gathering pace, with new mandatory nationwide standards for e-bikes and other electric 'micromobility' devices now in the works.

Regulators have struggled to keep high-powered and modified bikes off the market, while e-bike injuries continue to rise.

In NSW alone, 226 e-bike-related injuries were recorded in 2024, followed by 233 in the first seven months of 2025 — including four deaths.
