Flags down, that's the end of the 2025-26 lifesaving season!

Our surf lifesavers have assisted over 60 times with first aid and incidents during our beach patrols, along with countless preventative actions, education and general interactions with beachgoers to help avoid a rescue or incident.

Over 3,700 volunteer hours have gone into our beach patrols between the red and yellow flags, with another 500 volunteer hours for our water safety programs; Nippers, Flying Fishes and Samewave.

Beach patrols will resume in October, however in the event of an emergency at the beach in the mean time, call 000, which may activate our call out group or further SLSSA resources if required.

Our hospitality venue will continue to operate throughout the off-season, please follow our page, our website www.portelliotslsc.com.au and Blended Kitchen Catering for information.

Catch you on the beach in October!

Final Aussies Wrap Up 🏄‍♂️🌊

Once the Youth competition wrapped up, it was time for our boaties and senior athletes to hit the sand and surf!

Piper took on the Open Female Beach Sprint and Flags events, putting in a strong performance across both disciplines. She placed 3rd in her sprint heat to progress through to the quarterfinals, and backed it up in Flags—fighting hard through three rounds against the best in the country. 💪

Our Reserve Men’s Surf Boat crew—Dale, Dan, Garth and Trent, with Sweep Steve—faced challenging conditions on Thursday but showed great skill and experience to complete all three races. A solid 4th place finish in their final round was a highlight, just missing out on progressing further.

The U19 Surf Boat competition was delayed due to conditions, but our crew of Elijah, Mani, Noah and Seb, with Sweep Adam, came ready to perform. They delivered impressive results with a 3rd and 2nd place in their opening rounds and narrowly missed progression by just one point. The crew showed their class by defeating the eventual gold medal winners in the heats, proving they were right amongst the nation’s best. 🔥

We are incredibly proud of all our competitors. Your determination, resilience, and commitment to competing at the highest level is inspiring!

A massive thank you also to our amazing support crew—families, team managers, boat transport teams, and our loud and proud cheer squad. We couldn’t do it without you! 🙌

🏖️ Aussies Youth Competition Wrap-Up – Flags Day 🏁

The Aussies Youth Competition wrapped up on Sunday with the always exciting Flags event, and Port Elliot was proudly represented by five competitors.

In the Under 13s, Luna competed in her very first Aussies, gaining valuable experience and, most importantly, having a fantastic time on the sand 👏

Our Under 15 boys put in a strong performance, with Bailey and Corin progressing through multiple rounds, and Harry advancing all the way to the final — finishing an impressive 9th in Australia 💪🔥

Bailey backed up his efforts by competing in the Youth Pathways Interstate Championships on Tuesday. Despite managing an ongoing hamstring issue, he ran strongly in the Beach Sprint and followed it up with a great performance in Flags, earning a Bronze medal 🥉

Well done to all competitors for their effort, determination, and sportsmanship. Port Elliot is proud! 🖤❤️💛

Port Elliot Youth Crew had an amazing start to the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships! 🌊🏃‍♂️

Our Under 13 competitor Luna and Under 15 Corin competed for the very first time and gave it their all. Huge effort from the whole team, with Alex, Bailey, and Corin powering through to the semi-finals. Corin went on to compete in the Under 15 Male Beach Sprint Final — an incredible achievement!

A special shoutout to our Under 15 Male Beach Relay team, who ran an awesome race to claim Bronze 🥉 — with both Alex and Bailey pushing through injury. True determination and team spirit on display!

We’re so proud of our small but mighty youth team. Next up: Flags tomorrow 💪

And the action continues next week as our three boat crews and senior competitor Piper join us on the Gold Coast!

Go Port Elliot! 🙌🖤💛❤️

We had a small group of keen competitors who gave it their all—showing fantastic teamwork and club spirit. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who make the carnival season possible—especially our age group leaders and officials. Without you, our kids wouldn’t be able to compete.

Thank you also to those who transport the trailer to and from carnivals and carry those heavy tents up and down the beach. Your time and effort are truly appreciated, and you help create these amazing experiences for our Nippers. 🙌

We are incredibly proud of all our Nippers for getting out there, giving so many events a go, and representing our club so well.

We can’t wait to see what you’ll do in Season 2026/27! 🖤💛❤️
