Did you know that in South Australia, you must keep your dog on a leash no longer than 2 metres unless in an area marked by council signage (some parks and some beach areas)? If your dog is off leash in an approved area marked by signage, it must stay close to you, within your sight and return to you on the first call.

Alexandrina Council and the Dog and Cat Management Board are piloting a dog leash awareness campaign which focusses on Alexandrina’s busiest beaches over summer. Keep an eye out for the new signage and to find out more, visit https://bit.ly/3nHaZR7

Would you like to see a dog park in Strathalbyn?
Council is considering the development of a dedicated dog park to provide a safe and secure environment where dogs can play, exercise and socialise off-leash.
Community consultation is open until 9am on Monday 23 August.
Visit https://mysay.alexandrina.sa.gov.au/dogpark for everything you need to know, including the proposed location, and to complete an online survey.
