The weather was just perfect for great golf.

Congratulations to Darryl DC Chynoweth for winning the 27 Hole Championship with 100.5 Net out of a field of 13 players. Matthew Bormann (103.5 Net) counted out Lachlan Dolling for second place.

Nine players contested in the Mixed Stableford, and Ros Harris won with 37 pts and in second was Ros Aitchison 35pts.

I want to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to everyone that had been involved in any form with the club the last number of weeks covering the NDGSA Pennants, the Farmers Day, District Vets and the weekend of State Sand Greens.

Helping on the mowers and working the course, stocking & manning the bar, planning & preparing & cooking the various meals and cleaning the dishes, helping & coordinating the compitetions & wheel spins, spotting and anything I may have missed.

What a weekend & what a tournament, a big congratulations to Zac Fielding who won the SA State Sandgreen on the second play off hole.
The scene was set for a perfect playoff.
Jarred Dalton from Edinburgh Golf Club birdied the 18th to get into a playoff with Zac.
They both had a par on the first hole, then went to the 18th.
Jarred drove first & hit his onto the first fairway, Zac did the same but a little further down.
Jarred hit a great shot over the trees onto the black. Zac did the same but a little closer.
Jarred missed his putt & Zac got his birdie 🤗🤗
Fantastic golf guys & it was great to watch 🎉🎉

⛳ OUTSTANDING EFFORT BY OUR JUNIOR GOLFERS ⛳

Congratulations to Levi Barnes and Austin Sims, who proudly represented Port Broughton at the 2026 SA 12 Years and Under Golf State Final.

Levi and Austin qualified through the Yorke Peninsula event held at the Copper Coast Golf Course before travelling to The Pat Golf Course at West Beach, where they competed against some of South Australia’s best young golfers over two days.

Among a strong field of 118 competitors, Levi finished tied for 51st and Austin finished tied for 72nd. These were fantastic results for both boys, particularly considering they normally play Scrapes at the Port Broughton Golf Club.

Adjusting to an unfamiliar course, tournament conditions and two consecutive days of competition was a valuable experience and a significant step forward in their junior golf journeys.

Levi and Austin should be extremely proud of the way they represented their school, families and local golfing community.

Well done, boys! Port Broughton Golf Club and Port Broughton Area School are both very proud of you, and we look forward to watching your golf continue to develop. 🏌️‍♂️👏
