HISTORY

The Port Adelaide Barbell Club ( PABC) was established in 1980 and initially coached by the great Leon Holme. Coached Dean Lukin 110+ kg class Olympic Gold 1984

S Track cycling
Head coach Metiors Triathlon squad. Leon was the pricipal of the Port Adelaide Tafe which was based at Lefevre High School. He recruited a bunch of school girls and boys who trained at the school. Within a short period the squad outgrew the small facility at Lefevre High. They based themselves at Chris Duthie's house in Largs Bay. From there they produced numerous club, state and national champions. Chris Duthie took over as head coach and the club moved from location to location and now is based in heart of Port Adelaide. The latest edition of champions looking to stamp their authority on the national and international platform! CHRIS DUTHIE
