GOODYEAR RACING TO SUPPORT SUPER STREET

The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) is pleased to welcome Goodyear Racing to the 2024/2025 ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship as the naming rights partner for the Super Street bracket.

Goodyear Racing, through Australian Distributor NTT Racing, have been tremendous supporters of drag racing in Australia for more than four decades supplying Goodyear racing slicks direct from the factory to racers in Australia.

The Goodyear Racing Super Street bracket will next be on-track with the ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship this weekend, taking to Mildura’s Atlantic Oils Sunset Strip across September 21-22 for the Sunset Nationals.

Qualifying round1 Summit track championship at Dragway at the Bend. Unfortunately due to the gusty conditions the event has been reduced to 1/8 mile.

The season opening Nostalgia event is always a great way to kick off our racing season. Lots of cool cars and great people, it always delivers a successful weekend.

Friday night’s BBQ gathering set the scene for the weekend ahead. It was a great social event with plenty of laughs and a couple of drinks. Saturday’s racing got underway on time with the threat of some inclement weather around lunchtime.

We almost got through the 2 rounds of qualifying before we had a small shower, shortly after our track staff had the track ready to go to start racing again when we had another shower. A series of delays after further showers (and even some hail) saw a massive effort by our volunteers and racers to get the track ready again to start racing. We got going and completed qualifying, and then pushed on into the evening for as long as the track was safe and made it through 2 rounds of racing.

A fantastic dinner was had on Saturday evening, and then Sunday morning’s pancake breakfast saw us ready to get started and complete the event. One more round of racing was required and then the finalists were determined and the finals run with the results as follows:

Massive thanks to all our track staff for another huge effort leading up to and during the event and getting it done. Thanks to the Rambunctious Rodders for your help putting the event on and feeding us all.

Another fantastic event completed under trying circumstances, we look forward to our upcoming events and hopefully some better weather.

Here is an update on upcoming Off-Street Drags, Test ‘N’ Tune and Round 1 of the Summit Track Championships.

Off-Street Drags is just around the corner!

Take the speed off the street and onto Australia’s fastest drag strip with our upcoming Outlaw Speed Shop Off-Street Drags on August 3rd! Featuring off-street drag racing, $500 Custom LS Tuning Ultimate Speed Challenge and passenger rides, this is the perfect opportunity to get a taste of what drag racing is all about.

Custom LS Tuning Ultimate Speed Challenge

Drag racing with a twist! This unique format measures your top speed at the end of the track from a controlled moving start, with the winner of each race being determined by who records the higher speed. This knockout competition offers $500 in prize money to the winner courtesy of LS Custom Tuning. Simply add the $25 challenge entry to your August 3rd registration and be in it to win it all! Want to make the jump into competition drag racing without having to build your own race car or bike? Now you can with the Street Car and Street Bike classes at our Summit Track Championship Series!

Open to all cars running 13.00 or slower, and all bikes running 12.00 or slower and running to a Dial-Your-Own format, this is the perfect introductory class to run your own road car or bike in championship events.
