The Pomborneit Cricket Club is pleased to announce the reappointment of Grant Place as our Division 1 men’s captain for the 2026/27 season. Grant is one of the most successful captains in the club’s history and we look forward to having him at the helm in the second season of the Colac-South West premier competition.

A great turnout tonight at our Annual General Meeting. We welcome Jess Moulden (left) to the executive committee for the first time, taking on the junior vice-president role. A massive thank you to Patrick Johnstone (centre) for all his hard work in his 7 years in the junior vice-president role, and we look forward to Pat continuing to be a great contributor around the club. Matt Richardson (right) was honoured with life membership at tonight’s meeting. Now into his 9th year as senior vice-president, Matt has played over 250 games and has been a magnificent contributor on and off the field in a multitude of roles. Well deserved Richo!

A fantastic night at the Corangamite Sportsmen's Club dinner on Tuesday night at the The Commercial Hotel. Four of our 2025/26 premiership teams were honoured, while Bailey Fox was the junior sports star of the month for March for being the CDCA Under 14 cricketer of the year.

Thank you to everyone who came along and did some work at the reserve today (a couple more attended who aren’t pictured). Plenty achieved today:

-Massive cutting back and clean up around all the tree plantation areas

-Clubrooms cleaned

-Changerooms and sheds cleanout

-Spraying and mowing

-BBQ area maintenance

Well done to the cricket club on a great season, we look forward to making our reserve an even better place in 2026/27.

Thanks to everyone who turned out and made our senior presentation night on Friday and our junior presentations on Sunday such fantastic events. Well done to all our winners with Lahiru Fernando winning our top men’s award for a fourth time and Tayla Reynolds winning our top female award for the first time. Melissa and Annie Rees were awarded volunteers of the year for their awesome work in cooking dinner at the club every Thursday night.

🏏Life Membership🏏

At our senior presentation night on Friday, we inducted one of the great people of our club in Steven Murphy as a life member. More than 200 games, two Division 1 premierships, a Division 3 premiership and coaching a junior premiership have been outstanding achievements before his enormous off field contributions are taken into account. A dedicated volunteer for more than 25 years, “Churchy” has helped out in a number of roles at the club and around the reserve. He has compiled and published our annual report book since 2018/19. Perhaps his biggest contribution has been founding and single handedly running the “12th Man Club” coterie group in 2018. Now at around 70 members, the 12th Man Club has funded many projects, including the upgrade of the nets, the addition of away changerooms, purchase of mowers and grounds equipment, purchase of junior and women’s cricket equipment and training aids and all of the photo displays in the rooms. The 12th Man club also has fun gatherings, dinners and club engagement orchestrated by Churchy. A well deserved accolade for a wonderful member of the Bulls community.
