Tribute to the Late Rosemary Howard

This weekend our Netball Club will wear black armbands in memory of Life Member, Rosemary Howard.

Rosemary devoted decades to netball and to our local community, beginning with the Geranium Netball Club where she became a Life Member in 1985. Over the years she was a player, coach, umpire, office bearer, fundraiser and passionate supporter of generations of local netballers.

Her commitment to the club went far beyond the court. Rosemary was always willing to lend a hand, help organise events, support fundraising efforts and make sure the club remained strong for future players.

Even after the closure of the Geranium Club, her love of netball continued through supporting players at Parilla, Peake and eventually Mallee Districts Storm, where she remained a familiar face on the sidelines enjoying the game she loved so much.

Rosemary’s contribution to netball and our local community over almost 60 years will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends. 🩷🩵🖤

Due to Wunkar’s facilities not being ready, all of our 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟏 matches against Wunkar have been relocated to the 𝐋𝐲𝐫𝐮𝐩 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱.

We hope to see plenty of our supporters and sponsors come together to pay our respects and make round 1, one to remember!

• A Grade Netball – 12:30pm

• 2:15pm – All football and netball players will come together on-field for a minute of silence

• B Grade Netball – 2:30pm

• Football – 2:30pm

📣IMPORTANT ROUND ONE ANNOUNCEMENT📣

The Doggies are taking over the Lions Cage!!!

ROUND ONE VENUE RELOCATION FROM WUNKAR TO LYRUP.
We will be hosting our first home game at the Lyrup Sporting Complex, home of the once loved Lyrup Lions and current home to the Superdogs! We can't wait to see you there!

We are also honored that this year we get to host an ANZAC Day tribute, to honor and celebrate those who gave everything for us.

Doggies it's kick off week!!! Who's keen?!?
Unfortunately The Kennel isn't quite ready to host just yet but being our first home game we still wanted to do something special and we are super stoked to get the chance to work with the amazing Riverland Superdogs again and play on an oval and court which was once a regular in our league.

The RMFL were shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic passing of our 2025 Umpires Coach Matt Steinbeck.
Matt passed away on Boxing Day 2025 after a short illness surrounded by his family at the age of only 40.
Although he was only with us in his role for one year he made an instant impression on everyone within the League.
His professionalism, approachable manner and his drive to make the RMFL umpires the best they could be was extraordinary.
The RMFL Executive thoughts are also with our umpires at this time.
Matt was well liked and respected by them all and on the back of losing long time Umpire and mentor Damien McQueen late last year it's been a difficult time for our umpiring panel.
We pass on our best to Matt's wife Danielle and children Kaley, Byron and Bryce, work colleagues at SAPOL and all those who knew him.
