The Gold Coast is set to lose a major racing event after a karting company was forced to close its doors - residents opposed the northern Gold Coast development despite council initially backing.

GOLD COAST’S RACE OF STARS CANCELLED

The Race of Stars International Karting Event will not be held at the Xtreme Karting Facility on the Gold Coast in November as originally planned.

The announcement comes following a decision earlier this month by the Planning and Environment Court of Queensland to refuse a development application appeal by the owners of the facility. The decision has forced the owners of the facility to cease operation with immediate effect.
