I don't love being challenged. I am lazy in so many ways (there's a reason I always used 'motherlode' when I played The Sims) ... But overcoming and seeing the personal growth after a challenge, even when it's been thrown at you and unwelcome, is something I'll remind myself to be grateful for, because it made me as strong as I am today... And the same could be said about you.

Challenge the body = stronger body
Challenge the mind = stronger mind

What. A. Day!

I'm so proud of the FFL crew for pushing through a super tough walk today!

The 4:30am alarm and 1Β°c temps were tough. But once we got started, we had fun. We had beautiful views and even spotted splashing whales and a pod of dolphins. Then we had slightly less fun when joint pain and blisters kicked in, then had a lot less fun after that... But then we finally crossed that finish line, and it was wonderful!

Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored our walk today and helped us raise much needed money towards the .

Rest up, crew. You absolutely smashed it!

TOMORROW, some amazing FFL family and I, are walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk!

We'll be walking for over 7 hours, and it will be tough, but we're doing it for a great cause, to support Australians living with mitochondrial disease.

Thank you to our generous sponsors! We have already raised $1,326!!! πŸ˜±πŸŽ‰

I thought the $1,000 goal I set was a long shot, but YOU have made it all possible, and your money is going towards such a worthy cause!

Please sponsor me now to help me cross the finish line:

This Sunday some of my incredible clients and I are walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk!

Why? To support people living with mitochondrial disease, a genetic disease with no cure.

We have almost reached our goal of raising $1,000 from our amazing sponsors... Which is incredible!... But we need just a few more donations.

Please sponsor my walk and you'll receive a tax-deductible receipt to claim this financial year.

Why 10,000 steps per day?

Research shows that through regular activity there are a wide range of benefits...

- Increased heart strength

- Reduction in body fat and improved muscle tone in legs, glutes and core

- Regulates blood sugar

- Improved cognitive function

Studies following those who walk 10,000k steps per day have been linked to less cardiovascular disease (heart disease, stroke, heart failure), reduced occurance of 13 types of cancers, and reduced risk of dementia.

So, how are you getting your steps in today? Can you...

Walk first thing in the morning?

Park further away to the shops or the office?

Take the stairs instead of the escalator?

Get up and walk around the room or house every half hour when your smart watch reminds you that you've been sitting too long?

Go for a 20 minute walk during your lunch break?

You take your dog for a walk in the evening after dinner?

That's not to say that sometimes there will be days where you just won't get the 10,000... Which sometimes can't be helped... But if you can manage to average 10,000 steps per day over your week, you WILL improve your overall long term health and it WILL help get you closer to your health and fitness goals.
