Despite it only being the middle of January, it looks Captain Oates has already won Employee of the Year 2025.

He doesn't work nearly as hard as Shaun or Zac, or Instructor Sam or Instructor Cody. He also isn't great at admin, can't fly the plane, doesn't help with customers, has never packed a parachute in his life, has never actually done any work ever, but, well, just look how handsome he is.

He loved his jump with Instructor Matt so much, he came back to jump with Instructor Mike, woo! You'll note that while Instructor Matt is much more likeable, Instructor Mike repels clouds, so although the conversation is less pleasant, the view is improved.

Here's some photographic evidence that the Skydive 12 Apostles staff were indeed busy skydiving in front of lots of witnesses between the hours of 14.00 and 15.30 on Sunday afternoon and not at all picking up a hitchhiker on a secluded road nearby while dressed as a clown. And, even if they did, which they didn't, they, the hitchhiker, was totally still alive and not even a little bit eaten when we dropped them off, in our clown suits, which we weren't and we didn't, so it's fine. Completely fine.
