07/09/2026
As we wrap up an extended and memorable 2026 season, I have been reflecting with great pride on another successful year for The Eastern Phantoms. This season has once again shown the strength, commitment and spirit of our club, both on and off the field.
This year, four of our five teams made it through to the grand final, with three teams travelling to Nationals and one team earning the incredible opportunity to travel to the World Series. These achievements are something every member of our Phantoms community should be proud of. They are the result of hard work, teamwork, persistence and the support of so many people who give their time so generously.
None of this would be possible without our volunteers. To our coaches, scorers, team officials, fundraising teams and, of course, our parents and families โ thank you. The early mornings, late nights, extra training sessions, long days at the ballpark, travel commitments and behind-the-scenes preparation do not go unnoticed. Looking back, every extra effort has been worth it, not only because of the success we have achieved, but because of the growth, confidence and development we have seen in our players.
I would like to give a special shout-out to our coaches: Adam Watts, Phil Kendall, Shane Smith, Adam Ellis and Lennard Ostaszewskyj. We truly appreciate the time, energy, knowledge and care you have put into your teams and players throughout the season. Your commitment has helped shape not only stronger athletes, but also more resilient, respectful and confident young people. To all assistant coaches and Executive Officers, thank you for your dedication, organisation and support. Your contribution has been invaluable.
I also want to sincerely thank our committee members, who have worked hard throughout the year to support our teams, our families and the continued success of The Eastern Phantoms. A successful club is built on people who are willing to give back, step up, solve problems and keep things moving forward, often quietly and without recognition. Your efforts have helped create the strong club culture we are so proud of.
This season is also especially significant as The Eastern Phantoms celebrate 20 years in the competition. Reaching this milestone is a huge achievement and a true reflection of the many players, families, volunteers, coaches and committee members who have contributed to the club over the years. It is something we should all celebrate with pride.
While results are always exciting, what stands out most is the way our players represented the Phantoms โ with determination, respect, teamwork and passion. Seeing our players grow, support one another and take pride in wearing the Phantoms colours is what makes this club so special.
Thank you again to everyone who has played a part in making the 2026 season such a successful and memorable one. I am excited to see what 2027 has in store for our great club, The Eastern Phantoms.
Thank you,
Bianca Hayden
