As we wrap up an extended and memorable 2026 season, I have been reflecting with great pride on another successful year for The Eastern Phantoms. This season has once again shown the strength, commitment and spirit of our club, both on and off the field.

This year, four of our five teams made it through to the grand final, with three teams travelling to Nationals and one team earning the incredible opportunity to travel to the World Series. These achievements are something every member of our Phantoms community should be proud of. They are the result of hard work, teamwork, persistence and the support of so many people who give their time so generously.

None of this would be possible without our volunteers. To our coaches, scorers, team officials, fundraising teams and, of course, our parents and families โ€” thank you. The early mornings, late nights, extra training sessions, long days at the ballpark, travel commitments and behind-the-scenes preparation do not go unnoticed. Looking back, every extra effort has been worth it, not only because of the success we have achieved, but because of the growth, confidence and development we have seen in our players.

I would like to give a special shout-out to our coaches: Adam Watts, Phil Kendall, Shane Smith, Adam Ellis and Lennard Ostaszewskyj. We truly appreciate the time, energy, knowledge and care you have put into your teams and players throughout the season. Your commitment has helped shape not only stronger athletes, but also more resilient, respectful and confident young people. To all assistant coaches and Executive Officers, thank you for your dedication, organisation and support. Your contribution has been invaluable.

I also want to sincerely thank our committee members, who have worked hard throughout the year to support our teams, our families and the continued success of The Eastern Phantoms. A successful club is built on people who are willing to give back, step up, solve problems and keep things moving forward, often quietly and without recognition. Your efforts have helped create the strong club culture we are so proud of.

This season is also especially significant as The Eastern Phantoms celebrate 20 years in the competition. Reaching this milestone is a huge achievement and a true reflection of the many players, families, volunteers, coaches and committee members who have contributed to the club over the years. It is something we should all celebrate with pride.

While results are always exciting, what stands out most is the way our players represented the Phantoms โ€” with determination, respect, teamwork and passion. Seeing our players grow, support one another and take pride in wearing the Phantoms colours is what makes this club so special.

Thank you again to everyone who has played a part in making the 2026 season such a successful and memorable one. I am excited to see what 2027 has in store for our great club, The Eastern Phantoms.

Thank you,
Bianca Hayden

A VERY SPECIAL BASEBALL EXPERIENCE! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

What an incredible way for our Eastern Phantoms to experience a little more of the baseball journey while in the USA!

The boys had the opportunity to head along to a Cleveland Guardians game and meet fellow Australian and MLB star Travis Bazzana โ€” a pretty special moment for a group of young Australian baseballers living out their own baseball dream.

A few photos, a great game and memories that these boys will no doubt carry with them for a very long time. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Unfortunately, our Eastern Phantoms Junior League team have been eliminated from the 2026 Junior League World Series, going down to Mexico 5โ€“4 in an incredibly close game.

And what a fight they put up.

After trailing early, the boys battled their way back and took a 4โ€“3 lead in the top of the fifth, only for Mexico to score twice in the bottom half and edge ahead 5โ€“4.

With just one run separating the teams, the Phantoms never stopped fighting until the very last out.

While the result wasnโ€™t what we hoped for, there is so much to be proud of.

They have represented their families, their clubs, Western Australia and their country with pride, determination and heart.

To our players โ€” hold your heads high.

GAME 2 โ€” TIME TO BOUNCE BACK!

Our Eastern Phantoms Junior League team are back on the world stage!

The boys showed plenty of fight in their opening game against Italy, but went down 0โ€“4 to the Europe-Africa Region.

Now, thereโ€™s no looking back.

Itโ€™s an early one for everyone back home, but we know the Phantoms Nation will be up and cheering!

The Eastern Phantoms fought hard for Australia in the Junior League Baseball World Series, taking on a strong Europe-Africa outfit in Taylor, Michigan.

Although the scoreboard finished 4-0 in the opposition's favour, there was plenty for Aussie fans to be proud of.

Starting pitcher Riley Malcolm was outstanding on the mound, battling through five innings and racking up an impressive ten strikeouts to keep the Phantoms in the contest.

At the plate, Joshua Watts provided a spark with a solid double, while Brody Warner also chipped in with a hit.

Sam Gardiner backed things up nicely in relief.

Every Phantom gave their all in the field and at bat, showing the fighting spirit that Australian teams are known for.
