From 22–28 June 2026, we recognise Deafblind Awareness Week, a time dedicated to raising awareness of the lived experiences, challenges, achievements, and contributions of people who are deafblind.

At Ridgewood Athletics Centre, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, belong, and thrive in sport. We are proud to promote an inclusive environment where athletes of all abilities are welcomed, supported, and celebrated.

This week, take a moment to learn more about deafblindness, challenge assumptions, and help create a community where connection, respect, and opportunity are available to all. 💙❤️

The 2026 Athletics West NAIDOC Celebration Event held on: Friday the 10th of July from 9am-4pm.

This event provides you a day of interactive and fun clinics (Run, Jump and Throw) and opportinities to engage with elite Australian athletes and celebrate the culture, history and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

During our recent End of Season Wind-Up, several Athletics West Awards were regrettably overlooked during the presentation segment of our celebrations.

We never want our incredible athletes and volunteers to go unrecognised for their achievements, dedication and contribution to our centre and wider athletics community.

To ensure these achievements are properly celebrated, all outstanding Athletics West certificates and acknowledgements will now be officially presented during our Opening Day Program for the upcoming season. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Thank you to our amazing Ridgewood community for your understanding and continued support.

We look forward to recognising and celebrating these well-deserved achievements together 💙❤️
