So far 2026 has been all about Rasa! Rasa as Essence in Art class, 108 Hour Rasa Teacher Training and sharing Rasas in Yoga class...mm With my favourite Rasa cultivating Adbhuta...awe and wonder🪷🩷


Every experience evokes a rasa – an emotion, flavor, or an essence. Rasa is also described as a state of ecstasy in union with the Divine. All humans have a full range of emotions and all emotions are pure energy, the power of Shakti. The gift is in the energy and how we connect more deeply to our humanity through emotional intimacy. If we shut down our emotional body, we close the pathways to real intimacy. If we manipulate others with our emotions, we misuse the gift. If we wallow in our emotions, we deplete ourselves and lose our vital energy. 
In Rasa Yoga, we cultivate deep listening to our feeling body with centered presence. Universal Energy is flowing through us all the time, through every feeling, emotion, thought and movement. Somatic Intelligence can be defined as “the integrated intelligence of body, mind, emotions and spirit.” With the flow of rasa pouring through us, we become more attuned to the gift of life and evoke the creative energy that is ready to sing through us in every experience. Ultimately, with intimate presence, every emotion can awaken us to the Supreme Source of the MahaRasa, which is love. 🩷🩷🩷🪷🪷🪷

I can’t make the
world peaceful

I can’t stall tanks
from roaring down roads

I can’t prevent children
from having to hide in bunkers

I can’t convince the news to
stop turning war into a video game

I can’t silence the sound of bombs
tearing neighborhoods apart

I can’t turn a guided missile
into a bouquet of flowers

I can’t make a warmonger
have an ounce of empathy

I can’t convince ambassadors
to quit playing truth or dare

I can’t deflect a sniper’s bullet
from turning a wife into a widow

I can’t stave off a country being
reduced to ash and rubble

I can’t do any of that

the only thing I can do
is love the next person I encounter
without any conditions or strings

to love my neighbor
so fearlessly that
it starts a ripple
that stretches from
one horizon to the next

I can’t force peace
on the world

but I can become a force
of peace in the world

because

sometimes all it takes
is a single lit candle
in the darkness

to start a movement
