Football Bhutan Western Australia (FBWA) is deeply honored to present the Lifetime Achievement Award in Bhutanese Football to Karun Gurung for his immense contributions to our Bhutanese football. We wish him all the best as he embarks on this new chapter of life, filled with joy and exciting new adventures!

From his humble beginnings back home in Bhutan, rising to lead the national football team to an impactful initiatives in Bhutanese football in Perth, Western Australia, his contributions to Bhutanese football has truly transformed the football landscape within and outside Bhutan. His unwavering vision and inspiring leadership in football have ignited a deep passion for the football, empowering young talents to chase their dreams with immense aspirations.

Through his tireless efforts in building strong foundations and nurturing a culture of excellence, Karun has created a lasting legacy of his own that will shape the future of football for many generations to come. From establishing MiniDragon Academy in Perth to League and Master’s competitions and tirelessly standing and overlooking all the football games for 18 weekends at a stretch is by no means ordinary.

FBWA together with all the Bhutanese football lovers recognise that Karun’s legacy is measured not merely by the trophies, titles and accolades he earned, but by the profound love and passion for football that burn within him which transformed and inspired countless young and aged generations alike to strive for greatness in football each time they step onto the field. Your commitments in uplifting others and fostering their potential is a testament to your extraordinary commitment to football.

As you hang up your boots, we can’t fathom how many fellow Bhutanese would have picked up their boots inspired by you and your initiates in Bhutan and in Australia.

We thank you our Legend Karun Gurung, for your incredible career, unwavering dedication and immense contribution to the upliftment of Bhutanese football.

FBWA is honoured to induct you as our first inductee into our Hall of Fame. We wish you success ahead in uniting Bhutanese football and creating a coherent and vibrant footballing community wherever you go.
