I had a fantastic day connecting with women in business at the City of Cockburn International Women's Day Business event with the theme being March Forward Together.

It was truly inspirational sharing the stage with these amazing speakers. We heard from keynote speaker Amelia Scaffidi, did chair yoga with CaAtherine Meredith and talked business strategies and insights with Christine Kuca-Thompson, Charlene Clarke, Karen Dennett and myself.

Are you the type of person who is always hard on yourself? I can relate to this personality style and have made it a conscious practice to become my best friend by listening to my inner mentor.

The more I reminded myself to speak gently to myself throughout the day (especially during those challenging times), the more I could hear the inner guidance of my much-needed self-care practice taking shape. Trust your intuitive voice by asking yourself what you need to do for yourself today, and listen to your body (not your head).

When facing a career transition, you may feel a sense of uncertainty when finding yourself in a foreign territory, especially if you are the type of person who normally has a very clear direction in life.
