HMDS UMPIRE OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to SFJUA Head Coach Bryce Grey, who has been crowned Field Umpire of the Year, in the Hendrie Margetts Development Squad. The Association commends Bryce on his fantastic season, which he capped off on Sunday with the WAFLW Rogers Cup Grand Final - A game that went all the way to golden point!

Congratulations to SFJUA Life Member Bailey Foulk, who has earned back-to-back Devine Medals for WAFL Boundary Umpire of the Year. The Association commends Bailey on his fantastic season, and wishes him all the best in getting up for the WAFL Finals Series, after a recent injury setback.

Congratulations to Association President Ben Cutri, who will officiate the WAFLW League Grand Final this Sunday at Fremantle Oval! Ben was selected for the big dance after a thrilling Prelim Final, involving extra time and then golden score.

Congratulations to Head Coach Bryce Grey, who has been selected to officiate the Rogers Cup Grand Final this Sunday at Fremantle Oval! Bryce has made it the full way through finals selection in his first WAFL/W finals series, and caps off a fantastic season accordingly.

RETIREMENT FROM THE JUNIORS FIELD

Last weekend saw SFJUA’s longest serving member, Callum Tavinor, officiate his final juniors game. “Tavs” handpicked this elite lineup to help send him off after 15 years of juniors! Plenty of friends from across his journey also gathered to cheer (and jeer) him during the day.

Callum is an invaluable member of SFJUA, having served in multiple roles - Most notably, Head Coach and current Vice President of the Association. He also has SFJUA’s highest honour for an umpire named after him, in the Tavinor Shield.

We doubt that Tavs will be heading off for good any time soon, but we can say for sure that his composure, experience and bright hair will be missed on the field.
