We had a such great participation this year in our 👨👩👧Parents on the mat day.
Our students work so hard and they loved bringing their parents into class to share what they've been learning.

The one thing shy kids need that team sports never give them.

Most parents try a group sport first. AFL. Soccer. Whatever is on at the time.

Their child comes home quieter than when they left.

It is not the sport's fault. It is the format. Thirty kids, one ball, no one calling your child's name.

A shy child in a crowd does not come out of their shell. They shrink further into it.

Shy kids do not need more group time. They need someone to notice them specifically.

At Shobukan the first session is one on one. Not a trial class. Not a sit-and-watch. A session where the instructor knows your child's name before the hour is up.

Individual attention is not a bonus. It is the whole point.
