Training is underway for Season 2026/2027. We had our first session on a chilly Sunday morning at Shirley Strickland Reserve. We will be training every Sunday from 10am to midday (weather permitting) in the nets until September 27th after which training will move to the North ground at Shirley Strickland on Thursday from 5pm
If you've never played Blind and Low Vision cricket before and just want to come down for a try out everyone is welcome - please come down and say hi.

Bouyed by our win against ACT we took on Queensland in the last of the qualifying games. Queensland won the toss and we were asked to field.
Mike took in an early wicked but that was to be our only one for the day as Queensland recorded a significant score of 288. Our bowling and fielding were solid and we remained positive and upbeat for the 20 overs.
Chasing a large goal we also lost our first wicket early and despite the solid partnership between Mike and Darren Coyle, we were unable to keep up with the run rate. When we lost Mike for another fantastic score of 92 our momentum slowed further and we finished on 3/216. Darren Coyle finished on 47 not out and has had an excellent tournament but ultimately we did not reach the semifinals.
Our last game is tomorrow in the placing final against ACT and despite being a long week we are looking forward to hitting the pitch for one last time for this tournament.

What a difference a day makes. We did some soul searching after our difficult Tuesday and moved closer to home to play ACT in Victoria Park. As we reached the ground we found QLD had beaten SA which made a path to the finals unlikely with our poor net run rate.
Undeterred we lost the toss and were sent in to field. Mike took a wicket with the very first ball which happened so quickly the replay wasn’t ready. Two good partnerships had ACT in a good position. We bowled and fielded well and slowed their momentum to keep them to 7/197. Darren Stevens took two wickets, Alan got two runouts and Nicki was stopping everything.
With Mike and Ryan opening the batting we started very quickly and moved to 96 after just five overs. We slowed the run rate but retained control and passed their score without losing a wicket. Mike got his first century for WA with a fantastic controlled innings and finished 104 not out while Ryan got his second 69 of the tournament 😳
Tomorrow we play QLD in the morning game.

Late report: after chasing many balls to the boundary against NSW we had a rest and came back to take on Victoria. We batted first and put on 184 with contributions from Mike, Ryan, Darren Coyle and Alan. We felt we were about 40 short as we lost momentum with our tap order all getting starts. Ryan top scored with 51 and Darren 44no.
We got an early wicket but the second wicket partnership got Victoria most of the way home and they passed us two down.
It was a long tough day for us and we had to recover to take on ACT on Wednesday to stay in finals contention.

NSW hit us for a lazy 374 in this morning’s game. We were good with the ball bowling straight but NSW batted very well and a lack of mobility in the field hurt us a bit. Darren Stevens claimed his first wicket (and first run) for WA while Ryan got 68 and Mike 62 in a run chase where we ended up short at 7/198.

Now we take on Victoria in the afternoon game.

It was a bit of a tough start against SA today as they got away from us early and recorded a significant 286 at the end of 20 overs. Mikey bowled well to get four wickets and Curtis was out most economical bowler.
We started well and we had lots of good contributions led by Mikey 57 as well as Alan, Daz, Curtis and Ryan who all got starts. We lost wickets too regularly and ended up 191 all out.
