In my marriage, I use to crave the chaos, the sudden shift in emotion, the turbulence of the unknown.
No more.

That was the unhealed me searching for mirrors to reflect back my own chaos deeply rooted within my heart.

you stop living and start managing.🖤

👉🏻Managing their moods.
👉🏻Managing your words.
👉🏻Managing your face so they don’t see what you are really feeling. (Anger and pain)
👉🏻You apologise when you have done nothing wrong.
👉🏻You make yourself smaller so there is less of you to criticise.
👉🏻You perform okay when inside you are anxious, confused and deeply alone.

And somewhere along the way you start believing
that this is just what love feels like. F*ck that.

That safety is something you have to earn.
That you have to mould yourself into whoever they need you to be
just to survive the day.

But that is not love.
👉🏻In real love you do not have to shrink.
👉🏻You do not have to hide.
👉🏻You do not have to earn your place.

It is just there. Freely given. No conditions.
