Today we explored the evolution of competition, from pre-war Judo, through its development in Japanese universities, to the first Jiu-Jitsu tournaments in Brazil.

We broke down how rules shape the game, influence fighting styles, and drive technical evolution over time. We also analyzed the current rules and how to apply them strategically in competition.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with focus and curiosity.

I’m Ian Lucas Ludgero, 4th degree Black Belt and trough years of competition and coaching, I’ve developed a structured approach built on control, precision, and simple systems that work under pressure.

In this workshop, I’ll show you how to build a closed guard that is reliable, effective, and adaptable to any level.

From the bottom, you’ll learn how to:

• Neutralize pressure
• Create angles with purpose
• Execute high-percentage sweeps
• Apply simple, reliable submissions
• Retain and recover your guard
