🎉 Premier Grade Debut 🎉

Congratulations to our very own Darren Birtles, who has been rewarded with his Premier Grade debut in tomorrow’s fixture between Perth Bayswater and UWA.

We are proud of all the hard work and determination in getting to this moment, a well deserved achievement and one to cherish. No doubt the first of many!

2026 Grand Final Venue is locked in 🔒

After a Fortescue Premier Grade clean sweep in 2025, Wanneroo Rugby Union Club will host the 2026 Grand Final at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex on August 29, 2026 🏆

$15,000 in funding has been awarded to:

The green shirt program is designed to raise awareness about the experience level and development journey of new Match Officials. By visibly identifying inexperienced referees, the program fosters greater understanding, empathy and respect from players, coaches, and spectators - ultimately aiming to significantly reduce risk of abuse and unnecessary pressure on new referees.

We’re running the Level Two Match Official Developer Course, focused on building more mentors within our referee community.

With more referees especially juniors joining the Association, we need people willing to support, guide and share their experience with others in the game.

Saturday 18 April 2026 – Coach the Coach Session – West Scarborough

Great officials develop through great feedback.

We’re running a “Coach the Coach” Match Official Developer session, where participants will attend a community rugby round to observe referees and, more importantly, listen to a developer deliver feedback after the game.

The learning then continues as participants reflect on how that feedback was delivered and discuss ways to make it even more effective.
It’s a practical, hands-on day focused on building the skills needed to mentor and support referees as they develop in the game.
