It’s that time of year again, Wheelchair Superkick is back!

Wheelchair Superkick gives children with disability the opportunity to experience AFL, develop their footy skills and enjoy being part of a team in a fun and supportive environment.

Each weekly session includes skill-based activities, wheelchair movement, footy development and modified match play. Participants will learn the fundamentals of AFL, build their confidence and experience the excitement of training and playing alongside friends.

The program is open to children aged 7 to 15 with disability. No previous football or wheelchair experience is needed, and participants do not need to use a wheelchair in everyday life. Sports wheelchairs are provided, making it easy for everyone to get involved and enjoy playing footy.

More than footy 💛 A special Father’s Day story from Kingsway Football and Sporting Club.

For David “Wrighty” Wright, footy has always been about more than wins and losses. It has been about creating a place where everyone belongs.

For more than a decade, Wrighty has been a driving force behind Integrated football at Kingsway, coaching and advocating for opportunities for people living with disability since 2015.

But one of the most special parts of his involvement in recent years has been sharing the coaches box with his son, Cam.

Together, the father-son coaching duo have helped lead Kingsway’s Integrated A Division side through one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

In 2025, Wrighty and Cam guided Kingsway to its first Integrated premiership in 11 years. Twelve months later, they did it again, securing back-to-back A Division flags with another Grand Final victory on August 29.

For Wrighty, the success adds another chapter to an incredible contribution to all abilities football in WA.

Alongside his work at Kingsway, Wrighty has been involved with the State Coaching Team at the AFL National Inclusion Carnival since its inception in 2015 and has helped spearhead the growth of female Integrated football through She Can Play.

In 2026, Wrighty was recognised as the AFL Disability Inclusion Ambassador of the Year, while also being appointed Head Coach of WA’s inaugural Women’s Integrated State Team.

It has also been a special year for Cam, who was recognised as Kingsway Junior Football Club’s Youth Person of the Year for 2026, adding another proud achievement to the Wright family’s contribution to the club.

But this Father’s Day, it is the role they share a little closer to home that we are celebrating.

After more than a decade giving back to the game, coaching a Kingsway side alongside his son and sharing two premierships together makes for a pretty special father-son footy story.

Two coaches. Two generations. Two premierships!

We wish all the dads and father figures across our PFL community a very Happy Father’s Day! 💛
