🏏 COOLUM CRICKET CLUB WELCOMES AN INTERNATIONAL STAR! 🦈

We’re incredibly excited to announce that former Zimbabwe international Malcolm Waller has joined the Mighty Coolum Sharks for the upcoming season!

Malcolm brings a huge amount of international experience to Coolum, having represented Zimbabwe in 14 Test matches, 79 ODIs, 32 T20 Internationals and 2 ICC World Cups. 🌍🏏

But this signing is about much more than what Malcolm will bring on the field. He’ll also be working with our players in a coaching capacity, sharing the knowledge, professionalism and experience gained from competing against some of the best cricketers in the world.

It’s a massive addition for our senior playing group and an incredible opportunity for players throughout the club to learn from someone who has competed at the highest level.

We can’t wait to welcome Malcolm and his family into the Coolum Cricket Club community.

Coolum Cricket Club is incredibly grateful to Australian Test star Marnus Labuschagne and the Grassroots Cricket Fund for supporting our young cricketers through the Smash Series Cricket program.

The GCF Grant Program’s focus is on enabling sustainable impact, fostering participation growth in the junior space and creating brilliant experiences for volunteers and participants

At the Sharks, we're passionate about creating pathways for all ages to pick up a bat and ball, learn new skills, and become part of our cricket family.

🦈 SENIOR COACH ANNOUNCEMENT 🦈

Coolum Cricket Club is excited to announce that Adrian Barr has been appointed Senior Coach for the 2026/27 season.

Firstly, we would like to sincerely thank Deiny for the outstanding job he has done with our senior program. We wish him all the very best as he heads overseas and thank him for the time, effort, and passion he has invested in the Sharks. 👏

For those who don't know Adrian, he is one of the most respected figures in Sunshine Coast cricket. A long-time Maroochydore Cricket Club player and 1st XI coach, Adrian has spent decades helping develop cricketers and building successful club cultures throughout the region.

Adrian is no stranger to the Sharks. Over the past few seasons he has worked closely with our junior bowlers and has already made a significant impact around the club.

A key priority for the club was finding a coach who could be actively involved on game days while continuing to drive standards, player development, and club culture. Adrian was a natural fit.

🦈 Senior Men’s Head Coach Vacancy 🦈

Coolum Cricket Club is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Senior Men’s Head Coach.

Based at Ron Cargill Oval, Coolum Beach, the club competes in the Sunshine Coast Cricket Association and currently fields five senior teams (Divisions 1–5), along with fourteen junior teams. Recent facility upgrades include playing-standard lighting for night fixtures and newly installed training nets.

Coolum Cricket Club prides itself on a strong community culture and a commitment to developing players across all levels, while fostering a competitive and supportive environment.

🏏 Role Overview

The Senior Men’s Head Coach will be responsible for:

* Planning and implementing training programs for the senior playing group
* Mentoring senior leaders within the club
* Providing one-on-one coaching to emerging players
* Contributing to the club’s long-term development and on-field success

✅ Key Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will:

* Be a positive influence and committed to the club’s long-term future
* Demonstrate a passion for improving players across all grades
* Possess a strong work ethic and drive to succeed
* Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills
* Hold a Level 1 or Level 2 coaching qualification
* Be willing to mentor and support player development
* Have the ability to design and implement effective training programs
* Player-coach experience is desirable

💰 Remuneration

Remuneration will be discussed with the successful applicant and will be based on experience.

A huge congratulations to Oscar Coleman who has been named the U16B All Rounder of the Season 👏

Oscar put together an outstanding season with:

A consistent performer with both bat and ball all season, and finishing it off with a Grand Final hat trick and premiership to top it all off.
